SOLIS is Sydney Outdoor Lighting Improvement Society. We formed in 1998 when a group of amateur astronomers and Sydney Observatory decided the time had come to tell the City of Sydney that we wanted to see the night sky over Sydney. We work to bring about an awareness of the loss of the view of the stars in the night sky over Sydney. Show how bad lighting creates glare and destroys good ambiance. Show how good lighting creates good ambiance and gives a clear view.
