Very disappointed at the misleading copy on the Showboat Website. We chose this dinner cruise over the others on offer as it seemed to be a step above the usual party boat crowd.



Although the site stipulates smart casual to formal as the dress code we were dismayed to be queuing to board with people in fancy dress, cut off jeans and flip flops.



On the upside the manager did offer us a full refund on the spot without question when we asked to cancel.



Still a very sad end to our vacation in Sydney.



My recommendation is to give this one a miss, save some dollars and book a beer boat if that's your thing.

Had a worst service experience on the Sydney Harbor Ballroom cruise tonight. My girlfriend have found a 1.5 cm iron wire on one of the dishes, and when we try to get an explanation of this, the waitress with a blond hair was very rude and asked us 'What do you want?' Then she took the spoon (with iron wire) to the kitchen and handed a new spoon for us and said 'I'm sorry, Its just a plastic'. Seriously? Is this how you fix up a problem? Oh and by the way, we have to share a table with other guests when there are plenty tables available on second floor, what a great cruise indeed! This is just disappointing, I really hope you guys will follow up my case.

Found a almost 1cm metal thing in dish, so we let the waitress know by hoping they give us an explaination. However what she told us was 'it's just a plastics', then we only told her we sure it's a metal and why it's in dish, what she replied was 'what do you want' in a bad manner right away. The attitude how she or they handled this was bad.

Best experience I've had in a long time. My husband and I went there for our anniversary and we were treated like royalty from the moment we walked in. Good food and the performance is amazing as well.

Given my partner and I are measured everyday by our clients. We feel it not harsh to hammer this so called showboat.
Our cruise was to say the least congested with extremely poor service.
Not one table on board had water when you sat down. Nor will it be offered and dont dare go to the bar you will be quickly ushered back to your table and told a waiter will come around.
It is at this time you learn fast you are on board a production factory. Your food order will be taken first. Dont dare ask for drinks again, and to bad if like us and others around us . You have been for a walk before hand tuff no drinks yet.
In fact the table to our right had to remind twice they had not received their drinks . I had to go to the bar and demand our drinks , only because our meals had arrived still no water either.
A positive the show is good not brilliant but good. Two decks of available dinning space only one used and packed like a peak hour train.
This company has recently invested in a couple of very flash expensive boats boasting 360 degree views. They have a big focus on this with a big price. Price is not an issue if you get good service.
Sadly if our cruise and first time experience with this group is any indication stay away.

We have done 5 Captain Cook cruises and never had a bad experience. Guess where we are going next and always . Good luck folks.

The Sydney showboat experience is a boat trip, dinner and show. The boat trip is similar to any other harbour boat ride. The show was average but the food is the most disappointing part of the evening. I had the Indian vegetarian "upgrade" which began with a good starter but it was downhill from there. The main dishes are served after everyone with the standard menu has finished theirs. I might be able to overlook this but the food which came was poor quality. It had clearly been rushed and very little thought had gone into the dishes in the first place. The only thing I can compare it to is airline food on a bad day. This is very surprising given the number of Indian customers that the showboat has.
I would strongly urge anyone thinking about booking the Showboat to spend their money on seeing a show and having dinner elsewhere in Sydney and seeing the harbour separately as there is a lot better on offer for the amount of money you spend.

The food was good and entertainment was great! It was a really romantic cruise ride as we celebrated a special occasion.

Extremely overpriced for the experience. Dinner course was great but entree/appetizer and dessert...blah. Soft drinks should be free if you're already paying over $100 for the dinner cruise but they charge $4 for a small glass with no refills. I wouldn't recommend this dinner cruise to anyone.
