Sydney University Mechatronics Organisation (Sumo)

The Sydney University Mechatronics Organisation is a student-run society within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT). We function on behalf of all undergraduate Mechatronic engineers to enrich their student experience by holding social events and creating exposure to professional opportunities. Our regularly scheduled events aim to create a platform where students develop social connections and professional skills that cater to the needs of our Mechatronic student base, as well as students from across the Engineering disciplines. Our society would like to build a lasting connection with your organisation. We want to give students a chance to learn more about the industry they are entering, and your organisation will have the opportunity to meet many bright ambitious students and graduates alike.

SUMO is part of Sydney University's Clubs & Societies program and we aim to provide our members with some fun on campus, food, and cheap beer!

We've got a lot of things planned including: fortnightly food events (think bacon & egg rolls and kebabs), fortnightly pub nights, major events like cards night, hosting talks from industry and past students, and even a robot competition.

The Mechatronics Society: you eat its bacon, you fire its lasers, you devour its pizza and consume its slightly better quality beer; and wonder what this has to do with engineering. It doesn’t have to, it’s just awesome
