Tamwel Arts Description
At Tamwel Arts you don’t just learn to play notes on a page - you understand your instrument and love learning to play music. Students quickly learn to confidently tune their guitar, maintain correct posture, challenge their learning and understand tablature and notation. On a more practical level, students develop different skills depending on their interests; in particular they learn about melodies, chords, rhythm, timing, harmonies, and can actively apply this knowledge to their everyday practice.
As well as being an accomplished singer /songwriter, Tamarra Wellman specialises in Arts Management Services including Guitar Tutoring, Music Mentoring, Performance Coaching, Funding Applications, Event Management, and Youth Workshops.
Prior to tutoring on guitar Tammy ran a long-term volunteer project designed to develop, promote and assist young people in the music industry. Junior Country Crossover was an exciting project that provided music development opportunities to participants aged 2 to 18 (broken into groups). Topics covered included stage confidence; public speaking skills, musical timing and rhythm as well as public performances and regular workshops in instrumental, vocal technique, sound recording and stage presence. Tammy still now regularly provides performance opportunities for her students.
Tammy is passionate about working with and developing new artists and has also been extensively involved in such companies and organisations such as the Adelaide Fringe Festival, State Theatre Company, the South Australian Council for Country Music, Junior Country Crossover and the Folk Federation of South Australia.
A seasoned Radio Producer and Public Speaker, Tammy produced "Country Cafe" on Radio Adelaide 101. 5FM from 2012-2016 and is sought after as an MC at live music events such as the Swan Reach Country Music Festival and the Semaphore Music Festival.

Congratulations go to 8 year old Kearni this week as she's been invited to join the school band playing guitar.
