Tara Boer Goat Stud

Tara Boer Goat Stud is located in the western division of New South Wales. The Stud runs around 150-200 fullblood boer does all from successful proven bloodlines.
In the beginning we sourced animals from leading studs in NSW and QLD to give us a quality breeding flock that could perform on our property and over the years purchasing animals of specific bloodlines to introduce desired traits into our stud. In 2013 we were lucky enough to be able to purchase the entire Stud flock of Jim and Lyn Mayall "Jimboer" having known Jim and Lyn for a number of years when the stud was offered to us we jumped at the chance to snare such a successful and sound flock, the quality of animals are a credit to them both.

Having run both stud and commercial boer goats on Tara for over ten years we found the country is ideally suited, constantly growing out quality stud stock and commercial wethers with no need for supplementary feeding. The flock is run under commercial conditions helping us select animals that perform, carry a heavy meaty body true to type, have high fecundity, good mothering ability and be able to cover commercial distances without breaking down. The goats are run in conjunction with merino sheep, beef cattle and cereal cropping.
