Tarkeeth is Gumbaynggirr country, and Bellingen township's local forest, in NSW Australia.

Tarkeeth Forest Description

For past, present and future . . . Help us save our Bush Country.
The area known as Tarkeeth State Forest contains an important Gumbaynggiirr cultural site situated between two rivers - the Bellinger and the Kalang. It provides essential habitat for rare and threatened native wildlife that have already been displaced by nearby highway construction. Much of this important forest area has been designated 'plantation', and is being subjected to an aggressive clearfell, burn and poison forestry operation, that commenced in 2016 and is proposed to continue for a decade.
