What is teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic procedure that lifts stains off teeth from years of ageing and stains from coffee, smoking, drinking, medications, red wine etc. It works by using a special tooth whitening gel containing an oxidizing agent called Hydrogen Peroxide, when this is applied to the teeth it breaks down into oxygen molecules that go inside the pores of the teeth and lift the stains. In no way does it paint the teeth it simply lifts stains to return teeth to their natural colour tone.

Can I eat and drink immediately after the Teeth Whitening ?

We advise customers to not eat or drink anything but water for the first 60 minutes after the treatment as the pores of your enamel stay open for this period. For best results we also advise you to avoid anything that might stain your teeth for a period of 24 hours.

How long will my teeth stay white after the treatment?

It will vary from person to person however with good dental hygiene and avoiding foods and drinks that stain it is possible for the whitening to last up to 6 months.
