Average fish and chip shop, chips too crispy on the outside, potato scallop over cooked. Fish a bit flavourless but the batter was alright. Much better fish and chip shops around, not sure it deserves the hype

Good ol fish and chips!
Food is very tasty and portions are large!
We had the seafood platter for 2 - could have comfortably fed 3!

Great seafood sticks and calamari! Nice view while having a dine

We came here after reading articles in the media about being the best fish and chips in the region. I have to say I was disappointed. We got the seafood platter for two and the fish that came with it was dripping with oil. The rest of the seafood was reasonably nice but not amazing. I hope we just came on a bad day but I would probably not return.

*EDIT*
Changed to a four because the owner Ben is awesome!!

I was a little disappointed. Sometimes hype around a place can be a burden, especially in this climate of online reviewing.

Maybe it was just an off day ... or order

I think this may be one of those cases were people rave about a movie, so when you see it you think, it was ok, where as if you knew nothing you would have liked it better.

Mum and dad ordered the fish and flathead with chips, the batter was light and crispy, a little oily for us, but we rarely eat deep fried foods anymore, so likely a personal preference thing.

I had the grilled barramundi with chips, however when it came it was on the chips, making them go soggy, so I had to steal some from my parent's plates.
The marinade on the fish was nice though!

The scallops were a little too well done, quite a dark brown, and I was not a fan of the tartare sauce, maybe I just put too much herbs and spoices in mine?

The place was quite busy, popular with locals and tourists alike, we travelled for two hours to try them as a treat but I think maybe deep fried food for us should be as a side, not a meal.

The staff were friendly and they were pumping out the orders, but there will be a wait when they are busy as it is quite popular.

If you like fish and chips, check them out as they make their own batter etc, unlike others that get everything delivered frozen and just throw it in the deep fryer.

Hoping that next time I go it'll be a 5 star because they seem to be that way for so many others according to this page!

Husband and I visited last week and seriously the calamari and fish and chips were probably the best we have ever had.

Friendly service, fairly fast too. A nice thin batter on the fish and crisp chips, neither of them too oily. The banana fritter was great as well.
