There are still some chickens for sale following the Fair, all now one week old.
There are Isa browns (sexed $8) and silkie/frizzle bantams (unsexed $10). These are very sweet bantams when grown and make great additions to hen houses. They become very friendly.

You will get to follow the Steiner curriculum as it journeys from Play Group to Class 8.

Chickens and Duckling Orders for the Spring Fair.
Joanne Lowe (our Class 7/8 teacher is pre-ordering Isa brown chickens and hens; mixed breed silkie/frizzle bantams; 5-7 day old (unsexed, organically grown, not immunised) $10 each and ducklings (unsexed) $12 each.
Due to the drought, the regular hatching cycle of Isa brown chickens (sexed and immunised) is way behind schedule and prices have gone up. We may, or may not be able to get day old Isa Brown chickens. Older chicken...s will need to be ordered Day Old if available - $9.00 each 11 week old pullets - $17.00 each Point of Lay 19/20 weeks - $30.00 each 15 week old pullets - they are somewhere in between this amount. This cost covers the bird and freight.

Don't forget Melanie Deefholt is visiting our school tonight and will be holding 2 amazing talks for parents.
Kinder to Class 2 – 4-5pm Child development with Melanie in the Kindergarten room.
Class 3 to Class 6 – 6-7 pm Child development with Melanie in the Library.
... We are very lucky to have a visit from Melanie Deefholts once again this term. Melanie will visit TAWS on Monday 22nd October, offering evening talks to parents, to discuss child development and how to support this at home. Melanie is a wealth of knowledge with an array of practical advice to help parents and students cope with the ups and downs of raising healthy confident children no matter what age or developmental stage they are at.

One of our very keen parents wrote to express the benefits of Melanie’s evening discussion: “I always enjoy Melanie's talks.
