Reviews
Great place for a day out. Take the ferry from Palm Beach
It's great meeting place for picnics/BBQs, social events, camping, Weddings, watersports and activities, great photo and film location, great place to get close to nature
Favourite campground. Can park at the top and mountain bike 30mins down into the site or catch a small boat from accross the way. Kangaroos on the beach, really amaizing beaches and water
The location is very nice clear water and great view. the one star is because the staff in the camping grounds were very rude
Great for families camping. If you're looking for a quiet weekend away camping, this is not your place as kids are enjoying being outdoors!
Lovely place, the view is beautiful. Coming there with a ferry makes it very original and peaceful during the day. Wallabies and birds welcome you. Only negative point: groups were partying all evening until late.
This place is one of the most beautiful location within Sydney to go for camping or day trip picnic.
Beautiful spot, even when it was busy for the holidays. Has all the facilities you could want. Lots of wallabies everywhere.
You'll see some great wildlife but prepare for a crowded campground. This area is highly manicured, don't expect anything wild.
Great spot, gets crowded on holidays though
Love to spend time here. The place is so relaxing and it's perfect for spotting wallabies and goannas during the day (perfect place if you have friends who want to see some Australian animals without going to a zoo). The basin itself is perfect for a nice first experience with the paddle board. I usually prefer walking the trail to get there but it's also possible to reach it with the ferry.
Pigmy kangaroos and very few sharks
Great camp site for family
A great camp ground
Nice place to camp for free, easy Bush walk follow the great northern walk sign until you come to another sign that points to basin and it loops back to camp site . There is a creek the water was stagnate we did not swim in it there were no other people there when we went.
Nice little spot at the bottom of a gully, some grassed camping areas with good solid fire-pits, some other camp sites in among the trees, two long-drop toilets, a covered picnic table and a few others out in the open. No mobile phone coverage. This is a popular spot on the weekends for the off-road bike riders, so expect some noisy bikes going past from time to time. There is a running creek that has brown water, probably fine for swimming in summer, but not great for drinking.
