Perfect place if you're mostly looking for a no frills room with a bed and a private bathroom. Great price point, and in a very active neighborhood with plenty to do and get food nearby.

Convenient King Cross Hotel - lovely spacious rooms and great service

Hotel is average as other accommodation service providers around, the one made this place difference is one of the grumpy staff lady with a bad day attitude. if she is having a bad day from somewhere? I do not know what such a bad things might going on with her but if she agrees to put on her customer service uniform!! it's always comes with smiles not throwing your dumps at other!!!! such a poor HR department selected this lady there for somehow.

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station. It is adequately staffed. The cleaning staff are a bit overeager, constantly supplying toiletries and new towels. The only con is the slow elevator.

The good point is its a just few minutes away from Kings Cross train station and on the backpackers alley so well thronged with reasonable eating joints. However it's near Darlingtonhurst red light area.
The hotel is in a old building and if you have opted for a small room then you are on the fifth floor and the windows rattles in the wind. The lift stops at 4th floor and you have to lug your luggage up a flight of steep stairs. And the rooms and bathrooms are small. So have no illusions.
The wi fi is extremely slow and very erratic. Best not to do any financial transactions. But if in need of any printout they have a desktop connected printer which we used to printout our boarding passes.

I've stayed here twice now and I will return. Always clean, great staff and a great, central location. Don't expect the Hilton, but for the dollars you pay, great value for money.

It was a nice place with a comfy room however it would be nice if they had some natural light in the room. Up at 9am and you still thought it was 11pm. Also it would be good to have an exposed USB port on the TV so you can plug a USB or hard-drive in to watch shows.

After reading the reviews at the last minute it kind of scared me BUT I had no problems at all. My room was spacious including a couch with a desk. The hotel has a dnd sign and on the flip side addresses staff to make up the room. The front desk day staff was super friendly and the location is great! There was stains in the room but when I informed the front desk right after check in, I felt as I wouldn't be at fault. DO NOT do the airport shuttle as the outside company is awful (I should of used uber)

The hotel is located in a great and convenient location. The room is a bit small but was clean and tidy. Unfortunately one of the male staff at reception has very poor customer service skills and came across rude and patronising. I don't think I'll be staying with this hotel in the future based on this experiece as you can pay the same amount of money and stay at a better accomodation with better service.

Small room, but has everything you need. The lift doesn't go up to the top floor. Good enough if you plan to be out all day.

Squeaky floors but nicely decorated, small bathrooms by North American standards but works for those on a budget. Did have an noise issue and needed to move rooms, but they were super understanding and everything was solved in 10 minutes.

The hotel is very close to Kings Cross station which makes traveling around very easy. Our room was quiet and comfortable. There is a grocery store and many restaurants within a couple of blocks. My only complaint is that the windows were left open and we found two roaches in our room upon arrival. My husband disposed of them but I was on the lookout for more for the remainder of our stay.
