Not the fun, casual place it used to be. The garden used to be packed and there was often a DJ playing. The atmosphere has changed. It's dominated by groups who have reserved tables. Kids running around. Why do you bring your children to an alcoholic environment? Please stop being family friendly, it sucks for kids and for customers without kids.
We came on a Friday night. The crowd/music was a bit embarrassing upstairs - lots of young guys in suits who thought they were really cool (but were the opposite), guys in tight tshirts trying to grind on you and Top 40 music. We went to the bar and after a really long wait I got a sparkling wine - the flute was poured only 1/3 of the way full. My friend politely asked the guy on the bar (who looked really young - like he'd just turned 18) why it was so low and instead of just saying 'sorry, that's just the size of our drinks' or 'sorry, you're right...let me top you up a bit', he got really rude/arrogant/defensive and said 'It's the law' (???) but it definitely wasn't even a standard drink. Another weird thing was the second set of bouncers (the Indian guys) at the bottom of the stairs made us justify everything in our bags which was really unnecessary but also looked like they'd be hopeless at keeping anyone out. If I had to describe The Beresford in one word it would be 'basic'.
Nice dog-friendly patio with good music (if you like early 2000s rap/pop). Generally very crowded, so come early to get a seat. Pizza is okay and great if you get it during their happy hour specials.
One of my favorite places to have an afternoon beer! The outdoor garden is airy and spacious. The vibe is buzzing with great music playing. However as it gets busy it can get very packed, and there can be a huge line to get upstairs.
It's ok. Pretty standard. Nothing special. Food was nice enough
I've only been here to drink/dance. Never tried the food. Big place. Good atmosphere. Fun music.
Beautifully renovated pub - the bar counter is stunning. Live music venue upstairs and brilliant courtyard is perfect for summer drinks. Always busy because it's that good
Great atmosphere, great location. Only stayed for drinks and a football match but enjoyed the space regardless. The restaurant was packed and the menu looked incredible. Would love to go back for a weekend lunch or dinner.
Love this place. Great outdoor area. Always vibrant. Plenty of choice for beers and wine etc. Good service, friendly staff. Great food (Pizzas are fantastic, as are the burgers). Clean bathrooms, Great place to meet friends. All in all a great local!
security staff were very aggressive. My girlfriend was a bit drunk and the manager asked us to leave, which we were okay with. However when we were walking to the door on our own accord a security guard grabbed me and my girlfriend and told me to hurry up and forcefully pushed us out of the door.
I understand he was frustrated but just one more minute, we would have been out the door because it is difficult to walk in heels especially when you've had a bit to drink.
Nice music, super friendly bartenders, cool atmosphere... But charge you $27.40 a grey goose martini is way too much. Even at the most expensive bars and restaurants don't charge that much. It seems they don't know how much they are charging, bartenders are pretty young, on the other hand they very fresh and attentive. The regular martini is $18 with a avarege vodka, what is not that bad. Forget about the food, just under the score!
Love this place! Friendly staff, outdoor seating area is beautiful, live music and events are always great and food and drink is not too expensive and great quality. Will always be back xx
Love The Beresford. Excellent beer garden with great indoor/outdoor flow, sweet selection of drinks and you can go dancing upstairs when it gets late. Bring your boyfriend, bring your girlfriend you'll have a good time

Tiles like these didn't begin to appear on pubs until the turn of the 20th century. These green lovelies are only a few years old, but would have debuted around 1897 when the original Albion Hotel officially became The Beresford.
“Pappardelle” comes from the Italian word for “gobble,” which is what we’re planning to do with this gorgeous beef ragu number: $15 every weekday at lunchtime!
Can NSW claim their first whitewash (blue-rinse?) this century, or will the toads claim the dead rubber? We've got $6 schooners and $16 jugs of Hahn SuperDry, woodfired pizzas and of course – the Origin: live and loud!
Join us to watch as the Blues travel to Lang Park to cap the series off with their first whitewash (blue-wash?) since the turn of the century.
The Beresford will be hosting Game Three live and loud on the big-screen upstairs and in the main-bar too. From 7pm Hahn SuperDry will be on special at $6 a schooner or $16 a jug, with that offer extended for an extra hour after the game ends if our boys can get home with the win.
C'mon Blues!
