Masterton’s 10 year old, 100% rye whiskey. Named after gambler, buffalo hunter, army scout, gunfighter and newspaperman, William “Bat” Masterson. Crafted by artisans, distilled in a pot still and aged in white-oak casks for just over 10 years, makes for a rich whiskey with an earthy fragrance.

Komagatake single malt Japanese whisky. This Double Cellars release was distilled at the Mars Shinshu distillery before some of the whisky was sent off to mature at the company’s Tsunuki site. Comprising of whisky matured at both distilleries, the name speaks for itself. Bottled this year, this is the first Mars single malt of 2018.

I was excited to check this place out, but my excitement faded pretty fast. We booked for a table of 12 and they only gave us a table for 10 so we had to squish everyone onto the one table. The waitress with short brown hair was extremely rude. The food was very hit and miss (No oysters on Valentines Day), all meals were brought out at different times despite it not being busy and ordering at the same time. The drinks were ok but certainly nothing to rave about. Definitely not somewhere we will be going back too.

The siracha chicken wings are awesome. The tall chairs are industrial style piano stools which look cool but they are heavy and some are a little wonky.

Good whiskey selection, staff are friendly but not a great amount of expertise. Would recommend for a mixed crowd as it also has a good selection of craft beers and cocktails.

Our fav place for date night. Great beer, awesome cocktails & the staff are really friendly.

Best place in Newcastle to sit back and relax while drinking a rotating range of craft beer. Also, one of the best cocktail bars probably the best whiskey bar in Newcastle.

Only 1 complaint: they do not stock White Vinognier Port.
