We are really excited to have local painter Jedd Downes@ joining us in just under two weeks for his solo show “Quantum painter: Reflections in paint”. It would be great to see some of your smiling faces there, have a beer and a bite and of course to support the exceptional works showcased by the V talented Jedd. If you can’t make it Jedd has some extremely interesting upcoming shows where you can catch him: Opening tonight, the 4th of May at the Camden Civic Centre from 7.30 Jedd has a number of works nominated in the Camden Art Prize. Along with a self curated group show at Verb Syndicateate, Wollongong on the 31st of May. Followed by a interesting conceptual solo show at The Art Passage with Crocker Paints, Engadine on the 16th of July. Xo

Join us for the exhibition opening of Quantum Painter: Reflections in Paint, on Thursday 17th May, with beers and nibbles provided.
The solo exhibition by Jedd Downes will run for one week.
These paintings are evidence of ones journeys as a quantum painter placed in space-time, an index of ones daily life in an artificial reality of human perceptions. The paintings have been brought forth from the Jedd dimension, a higher state of consciousness bound by the cosmic wound. They... are a glimpse into the 14th dimension, a fragment of ones psyche.
The works draw on influences from nature, science, spirituality and existentialism.
These artworks have three distinct styles, outlining the activation of three dimensional space through process, light and space-time, while exploiting the mediums strength, depth and form.
Jedd is merely a vessel, an extension of paint on a painting of self discovery. He allows the medium to evolve, create its own conditions and reach its full potential. Leading to better his understanding of the natural universe and the phenomena that occurs through out it.

So as I've been saying recently to some, thinking of having a very low key poetry night/dinner at The Chokey. Just something different, maybe test yourself, I know there is a few writers among us. If you want to chuck something into the mix, please do. Even a work of another that your really admire. We can put some on the walls and you can remain anonymous or even read one out. So if you're interested shoot me a line a get writing.
