The Clovelly Hotel

My brother in law says ‘best pub in Sydney’. If you like your pints and punting. Can’t go wrong.

Good venue, however the staff very quickly closed the bar without much notice to patrons. In future more than five minutes notice would be amazing!

Great beer garden and awesome food. Had the chicken slaw burger which was tip top. Would be a great pub to have a few with a few mates

Had to order food at the bar. Staff didnnot greet us. Just took or order and money. No please or thank you. Was even wearing thongs.

Good venue. Looks like recently renovated (visited in July 2017). Venue has all the mod cons, lots of space, lots of bars. Live music was good. Food was ok, nothing special though. We had a great time. It was surprisingly quiet when we were there with barely any other guests there which was strange.

There were green chips in my dinner. I had no problem with this until I realised that green potatoes are toxic and are poisonous. Other than this there were really no problems though.

Would like to say I had a Nice family reunion. But there was green chips in my dinner and they had no more garlic bread. After looking up the green chips online we realised that they were Poisonis. They do have a very good snichzel.

Good food. Casual surroundings. Service was very pleasant. Enjoyed a laid back evening.

The Clovelly hotel is perfect for a quiet drink or two in a relaxed sports and beach view pub. The surprisingly large venue has numerous small rooms and areas to explore. The beers include the regulars as well as some tasty boutiques. The prices are slightly higher than you might like, but this is the eastern suburbs and the venue and feel is worth it.

The clientele includes locals and sports enthusiasts as well as the odd tourist looking for a relaxed time.

It's a little difficult to get there by public transport but it's perfect for an afternoon beer in the sun or a spot of live music early on Sunday night. The pub closes at 9pm on Sunday ensuring you'll be home in time for a good night's sleep for Monday.
