The Coffee Club Penrith Plaza

Grumpy service, wilted salad and not just not as good as we've come to expect from Coffee Club.

We often have breakfast here. Good selection. No complaints.

How do you serve wedges that have been grilled until cheese burnt onto greaseproof paper and leave the grease proof paper for serving. Terrible experience, haven't been there for ages won't be back, sick of giving you second chances. Close down.

Only average. Coffee was good, but the portion sizes for breakfast were miserly. The bacon was ok, but my two fried eggs were small and obviously cooked in the same pan as they were stuck together. The mushroom portion was very small and the half grilled tomato was almost cherry tomato size. I had to argue with the chef to get another half.

I foolishly had breakfast here again this morning and have downgraded my rating to only two stars. The coffee was luke warm and everything on my plate tasted just like salt (which I'm supposed to avoid at the moment - at least give me the option to add/not add salt). Oh, and I had to ask for another piece of tomato again, to supplement the quarter tomato I got.

My overall impression of Coffee Club Penrith is that there is no generosity or love in their cooking or service. I'm sure the chef and waiting staff are appreciative that they have a job, but that seems to be all it is to them. Just a job. Next time I will try somewhere where the priority is to provide customers with an excellent experience, not just the minimum service because "that's what it says on the menu". Disappointed.

I have generally found the coffee club over-priced but the Penrith plaza store really takes the cake. My pancakes were not fresh - they were as manufactured and cardboardey as McDonald's hotcakes (DEFINITELY NOT worth what I paid). In addition to this, my drink came after I had just about finished my mains. I can understand that there was a backlog on drinks, but what I couldn't understand is why they didn't just serve my food later - ESP considering the pancakes were microwaved.

I Was at "The Coffee Club " today for lunch for MOTHER'S DAY, sitting at a 'dirty table' for 45 minutes waiting for the dish to come out.
Sorry Justine Schofield, we didn't get what you advertise in that perfect glossy menu with your pic on it. The chef gave us grilled/raw instead of sautéed mushroom, no onion and two very sad spinach leaves.
When we complained the 'smart arse' at the counter told us that we shouldn't have consumed the omelette. Well after waiting for nearly an hour for the disappointing plate of 'whatever was thrown on it' and paid for it I think the last thing to do was swallow it as fast as we could.
Very bad customer service will never go back there again.

While the food and drink was lovely, and most of the staff were well mannered, I had a terrible experience thanks to the store manager. I came in on a Monday afternoon, and the manager (tall, blonde girl) was being overly critical of her staff, she was loud, blunt and ruined the coffee club atmosphere I loved. After being served well, by a staff member, I took my seat, and listening to the manager talk to her staff and customers very shortly, I was soon angered. Her obnoxious and arrogant personality has ruined my love for the coffee club and I'll never go again. In my opinion, if your reading this, don't go, unless your going to get her fired.
