Is the equivalent, western, institution allowed in communist China?

Learning Mandarin is not easy for us Westerners but Chen Laoshi has made this difficult task very enjoyable. I am sure she has found our (especially my) inabilility to quickly learn the basics quite frustrating but she has not shown any sign that this is the case.
I think I can say that the whole class has found this difficult experience very enjoyable due to Chen Laoshi's excellent teaching abilities.
I hope we can continue with her as Laoshi next year.
