Worst Melbourne Cup event i've ever been too! Paid $80 for a drinks and canapes package and the food was absolutely awful, service terrible and there was no atmosphere. I use to like this place and Queenies upstairs but i will never return after yesterdays experience.

Love their steak night. I have hired the function rooms upstairs for birthday parties..very good

Laid back pub vibe, very large facility. Food is ok, trivia is good. Usually with big groups and lots of teams, reserve your spot if you wish to play (or be wary of bagging a seat early if you're there for dinner on Tuesdays)

How disappointing! I love a pub dinner and usually can count on a pretty decent feed. This certainly was not that. Miserable excuse for a steak, about 5 chips (were they from a pack of supermarket oven fries) and some dry cabbage as an excuse for coleslaw. Fortunately the beer was good which is where the 2 stars came from.

We usually come here for trivia night. The schnitzels are great nice drinks selection and super happy and freindly staff! Love going there.

Not bad food, good atmosphere, great trivia. Make sure you book a table for trivia. Need a little more bar staff

Warm and cosy decor. Staff are super friendly and down to earth. Plenty of seating options and food is acceptable, especially so when you hit up their Monday steak night. They have a decent amount of microbrew beers and a good range of tinnies.

Came in for trivia which was great fun. Host was friendly and interactive. Food was great - I ordered the animal schnitzel and it was all kinds of delicious. Decor was very cool with all kinds of kitsch amalgamated with retro charm. Staff were a little curt but understandable given that it was quite busy. Overall, it was a great night and I'll visit again for that meal!

I've had good experiences previously but today the food was far below average. Ate with a group. 5 dollar Monday steaks are what they are, so if you're looking for a passable feed - don't bother, if you're homeless though it's probably worth it. I had a burger, and lately in Sydney we're spoilt for burgers - this however was easily the worst burger I've had here in the last 5 years. A Big Mac would've been far more satisfying and tastier, legit. There was also an obscene amount of flies in the garden area as well as a strong odour from the either blood and bone for the potting soil or fresh manure. 2 stars for previous experiences before today only.

Yeah... good pub, nice setting, leafy decor, good crowd and friendly staff

There was nice comfort American food served though I have to say the noodles in the mac n cheese were pretty over cooked. The interior is interesting and sports are playing on the TV's if that interests you. Worth popping in for a cold cider on a hot day!

User

One of the better pubs in Surry Hills. Loads of seating and really friendly staff make it a great place to go for a drink with mates or even to just go and watch some sports. Food is decently priced for the portion size and the happy hour is quite generous. If you're in the area and looking for a dive bar/pub this is your place.

Cool bar with eclectic décor, good atmosphere and the staff are fun and helpful. A large group of us did a cocktail making class here during the day and the barman was informative, helpful and entertaining.
