Thanks to the Australian Farm Institute for the opportunity to present on the GATE at its Digital Agriculture 2018 Conference last Wednesday and to my fellow panelists Sarah Nolet, AgThentic and Doug Fitch, Agworld for a lively discussion. Followed by last Thursday's announcement by NSW Primary Industries Minister, Niall Blair, of $50 million injection into DPI's research stations. This is the largest boost in DPI infrastructure in over 20 years and is a clear commitment to DPI as a leading ag-research and innovation organisation worldwide. By linking DPI capacity directly to innovators, the GATE offers the ag-tech/ start up industry a powerful tool.
