Karaoke has returned to Thursdays starting March 8th from 8-12pm 🎤🎤🎤 Karaoke Klub is our new night at The Newcastle Hotel. Cheap drinks, good food. All welcome.

We would like to say a big thank you for such an amazing farewell party. It was really wonderful to see so many smiling faces and a full dance floor from start to finish. Thank you to Tam Ward for your epic 6hr set. It's been a pleasure to have you play for us for the last (almost) 2 decades. It's bon voyage for us as we move into 2018 with something new and fresh for Newcastle. Gateway Crew x

So, for our final bash… get out your frocks and jocks, leather and whips, glitter and glam and come say farewell to the G, Barricks, Criterion or however you may remember us. There will be drag shows and long standing resident Tam ward will be playing all your favourite tunes in the club. The front bar will host the Karaoke stars you’ve come to know and love bellowing it out in fashion. We would like to thank you for your loyalty and all the fun times had over the past two decades. After 18 years, the time has come for us to say goodbye. In March 2018, the venue will be taking a new direction including a new name in which the focus will be live music, EDM and a fresh new take on food.

Staff are super super lovely

The G is my home bar lol. Always a fab time, always make a friend or 10. Fond of the $5 fruit tingles that were on offer last night. No dance battles this time as the floor was closed for an event. Only downside was disrespectful straight guys that were just there for the gig. Usually you just walk around with no worries and everybody's hella friendly though. 10/10

Had a great meal and a cool beer in a cosy warm environment. The meals were very wholesome pub type meals. There are also weekend special events like karaoke and DJ

I'm sure this place is probably nice during the week but it was the noisiest dorm room I've ever slept in and I've stayed in hundreds. Would not recommend staying here on Saturday night.

Great location. Good food and music. Great value.

Good gig at The Small Ballroom - reasonable service, great crowd.

Bit expensive. Good atmosphere.
