The historic feel of this building makes a great place for a cold drink. The live music is always good.

Heaps of character this pub, real fire place! Live music including resident piano player

Beer can be slightly on the expensive side for Tooheys/Kirin ranges (e.g. James Squires) can get a bit touristy

Food ok, excellent sandstone setting

One of the oldest pubs in Sydney. Beautiful sandstone building in a great location. Live music in a cosy space and good food and drink.

Oldest pub in Sydney that has not changed locations. There are historical plaques explaining a lot of the history there. The hand carved sand stone building is really quite neat and shows the kind of building methods that were used at the time. Service was great. Live music is a regular thing as well. I highly recommend this place as a part of any Sydney pub tour or historical walking tour.

Always love the atmosphere of this old pub with the stone walls and hardwood floors. Great pub with decent food too.

User

Really great and unique atmosphere, unlike other pubs. Enjoyable music too. You'd never think it was right in the middle of the city.

User

Worth it just for the old building. Also to get you tho read about the battle of Waterloo. It's had alot significance. (you probly knew that but me not so much).

Lovely historical pub. Food was good. Drinks pricey but that's what you pay for this end of town.

Live music on Saturday night. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good service. Will be back

Had a lovely business lunch last week at the Hero. Staff were amazing and organised a table by the fire that impressed and warmed my clients. Food was delicious and certainly way above the normal 'pub' fare. Would recommend.

User

Great traditional old Rocks pub which is occasionally descended upon by skretchy office types.

User

Good beers, nice atmosphere + staff!

User

Old Irish pub in the shadow of the harbour bridge. Lovely old building but quite crowded. Also no phone reception on any network (this may be a plus)

All the staff from bar to dinning respect u as one of them fantastic service all round!
