To a man who inspired many, a lover of great food & the most amazing storyteller.
“His triumph was his ability to drop himself literally anywhere in the world, recognize the humanity of the people he found there, and reveal it to the rest of us. His talent was knowing strangers; his credo, it might be said, is that strangers deserve to be known.”
This is a wonderful tribute💔

The floor manager tried to ruin what was a really enjoyable Christmas party. We were at this pub as part of a Christmas pub crawl. He consistently walked around and threatened my friends with taking drinks off them if they didn't sit down (we were talking on the side walk, had bought multiple drinks and were using the tables provided). We were having a pleasant chat and were by no means causing trouble. One of my friends put her half full drink down and it was snatched up by the floor manager and taken away. We left after half an hour as we were being treated like criminals for enjoying ourselves? Will never be back. Have never seen the like.

The Morrison Bar and Oyster Room provided my work colleagues and myself with a great late arvo/early night wine and dine. The aura of relaxation and ambience allowed us to escape the hustle and bustle of a 9-5. The table seating however ((which was well below average I might add)) made it feel like we were still in the office at our cubicle, the very place we came to The Morrison Bar and Oyster Room to escape. If I was a part owner of The Morrison Bar and Oyster Room ((thank God I'm not, right?)) I would employ the use of comfort seating that encompasses the post work relaxation some of us so truly crave. As fate would have it though I took a path of intellect and hard work and here I stand, a valued member of senior management at none other then Goldman Sachs ((on a 6 figure salary for all those wondering)) doing what I was put in this beautiful planet to do... manage. All in all however a great all round experience and would definitely return to The Morrison Bar and Oyster Room again.

Pretty cool place for a bite to eat, extra points for being able to get a nice juicy burger after 9pm on a Monday when everything else is already closed in the city! Great music! Chilled vibe! George Street has been messed up for a while with all the construction and road blocks, but worth going through the mess to explore the Parlour Burger at Morrison Bar!

User

Went for a 60th birthday. The food was fantastic. Portion sizes were spot on for a 3 course meal, filling you up but not to illness. Atmosphere is great.

User

Came here for Oyster month special. We had two and a half dozen of oysters for a dollar each. Had a amazing time with the food and drinks. It's also great for meeting new people. Great vibes and service. Seems to be popular with folks working around the area.

User

In my handful of visits to the Morrison there is one consistency. The floor manager is possibly the rudest power hungry human I've ever met. Obviously the foods average and overpriced but you almost expect that in a Sydney CBD pub. But this man is just ridiculous, it's laughable how caustic he is and his insistence on shouting/spraying into the face of his customers from 12cm away just further demonstrates his little complex.

User

Poor quality of food. Everything overcooked. The look on the face of the waitress when i asked for a plate to go with my food was just priceless

User

Went there for the $1 oysters and was impressed with the ample supply they had especially considering the amount of customers. The oysters were good but definitely not as good as those from Sydney Fish Market. But for the price you pay, it is definitely very good value.

Had a glass of Prosecco which was $10 - bit on the pricey end for other food/drink items at the restaurant from the looks of it.

User

I highly recommend the Morrison for any event you have because the service I've received was the best. No joke. Charlotte and Hayley were the bartenders for a reception I attended and they were so polite and efficient. If you ever have an event, this venue is a great place to go.

User

Tucked away in the Golden Lounge section of The Morrison is the Parlour Burger. While the burgers are not of a large size it is a reasonable portion so long as you get a side of fries. We found the sole staff member behind the bar not coming across as overly friendly and the sign for $5 happy hour drinks on the wall to be misleading as it apparently did not apply in the burger parlour. Service of food was very quick with the burgers and chips being very tasty but we were hungry. Atmosphere within was pleasant but very dim lighting which made reading the menu very hard.

User

Famous for its oysters. The public bar has a good choice of burgers. Happy Hour from 1700. The restaurant food is excellent, but the cheapest red wine is $49 per bottle.

User

Disgraceful service. Disgusting attitude. Worst bar I've been. Went to the bar to order a bottle of wine. Got told there is table service. Then tried talking to a staff in red checker shirt to order the wine. Got told there is no table service and need to order at the bar. We were obviously confused being told different things. Only to have one of the rudest hospitality staff to roll his eyes at us, told us to go back to the bar, and then said they're not going to serve my friend if she create a scene. What scene exactly were we creating by asking to order a bottle of wine? No wonder it's half empty on a Saturday night. Absolutely disgusted by your service. Shame on you.

User

Pricey. The steak was great but does not come with any sides even salad! How much does salad cost? Friend's lamb/beef ragout was dry and lacks enough meat! Will come back for the Great atmosphere but not the food

User

Decided to give this place a try with some mates after others have raved about the $1 oysters.

Seating: Long line at the door for oysters, which moved surprisingly fast. Inside was very busy, and a section of the restaurant was booked for a work function. Noted some people standing up and holding their tray of oysters. Hard to find seating but eventually grabbed a dirty table once a small group left.

Atmosphere: lots of young professionals in work attire which giving it a trendy feeling. I felt underdressed in a plain tshirt and jeans.

Food: you get what you pay for with $1 oysters. Not very large, and honestly a bit boring. There was hot sauce on the table already but we purchased a few sauces with our order.

Overall: nice decor and atmosphere but too busy for my liking. Seat hunting was annoying. $1 oysters were boring.
