Conveniently located in the CBD; just minutes from Wynyard Station and close to all major tourist attractions, The Occidental is one of the last five surviving hotels of this style and its foundations are now Heritage Listed. Largely untouched until the 1970’s, the hotel retained its original functions into the 1980’s when three floors were adapted for use as a restaurant, a function room and accommodation rooms.

As the one of the oldest working hotels in the city, it has high social and historic significance for its long and continuous tradition as an inner city corner hotel.
