Used to be a lovely family pub under the irish management, but now under new management they won’t respect the neighbours, music blasting I try to let baby sleep and can’t sometimes. Tried talking to management but he didn’t have a care in the world, looks like a junkie. Food gone way down hill and service. The new owners need a reality check to go back to a family pub not a nightclub. Police there all the time now. And Friday and Saturday nights serving people blind drunk causeing them out in streets causing a nusense with no security on for people’s safety. It’s gone real down hill and I’m very disappointed.

NOT A FAMILY PUB ANYMORE.

Had a family dinner and the food and service was amazing 👍🏼

Perfectly cooked salmon, good snitty and a nice wine selection. Atmosphere was friendly and comfortable. Enjoyable meal and evening. Would recommend a visit.

Must have had a change in kitchen staff, lunch on Friday was a burnt dry piece of salmon, dinner on Saturday was the worst example of garlic prawns I've ever had, old gluggy rice, prawns were fiberous and over cooked, they also were not cooked in the sauce as they had no flavour and were probably left over from something else, a thrown together plate of leftovers that was not what I've previously had at the Orana

In fairness to a good pub I've been back 3 times now for lunch/dinner since my post above and am happy things are great again obviously the post above was during change over of management/owners

First time there under new management. Was previously a wonderful family pub. My family loved our trivia Tuesdays.
Food not up to previous standard. But worse was the managers behaviour. When asked how our meal was, we replied not great to which he informed us "oh well it's cheap steak". We mentioned it's normally better. He then stormed off slammed and the kitchen doors so hard it made the clock fall off the wall!
All this in front of my young family. We weren't being aggressive or offensive. Didn't even send our meal back (unlike others). Was completely uncalled for!
Such a shame as the warm and friendly staff were a big reason we chose the Orana over the many other restaurants and pubs in the area. Not going back!

Raising Money For Little Arlo 😢
Arlo is only a baby. He was diagnosed with embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma of the bladder and prostate at only 4 months old. About 3 weeks before he was diagnosed he had a UTI which was discovered by a home doctor after a week or so of high temperatures and belly pain, the doctor wanted to send him for an ultrasound to investigate further as it’s not common for boys to get UTI’s.
The results were devastating.
... Arlos urine was being blocked by a mass in his bladder which was sending his urine back up to his kidneys. Their family doctor had already organised for Arlo to go straight up to the hospital for another ultrasound and they put a catheter in his bladder to try and drain his urine which didn’t work. He quickly went down hill from that point. His kidneys and his whole body was full of fluid.
They took him back in to surgery to put two stents in his ureters with tubes coming out of his sides to drain his urine out. It was a success for a short while then stopped working. he was then taken up to PICU as he was deteriorating at this point.
They took him back in for surgery to attempt to put bigger stents in his ureters which ended up with the same outcome. Worked well initially then stopped. He was again deteriorating fast.
The doctors spent half the day talking with Westmead Hospital to see if their was anything else they could do for him there or send him to Sydney for dialysis. They came up with one last procedure to redirect his urine with two urostomy’s which thankfully was a success.
He started improving and once he was in the clear we went back to the ward, about a week later he started chemo, his protocol goes for 34 weeks. His last MRI about 4 months ago showed them tumour had not shrunk but at least it hadn’t spread or gotten any bigger.
We are hoping Arlo is a good candidate for brachytherapy radiation. This will be possible once he is well enough to go to Westmead,Sydney.
He has spent a lot of time in hospital. His biggest issue was the bacteria in his urine which he is now on a low dose, long term antibiotic, which has helped.
Arlo has struggled a lot with gaining weight and is on a high calorie formula and also on pump feeds. He doesn’t care much for food and doesn’t tolerate much so it’s made it quite hard.
Arlo has 3 older siblings, Kaiden (6.5 yrs), Levi (3.5 yrs) and Layla (2 yrs) and they absolutely adore him. As one can imagine, this situation has been extremely hard on both parents and the family.
The Orana Hotel is a proud supporter of Arlo cause and would like to reach out to anyone who is keen to help his cause.
The pain this little guy is enduring is so unjust and unfair. You can help by clicking on his go fund me page link below. Any amount will help please share this page. ❤️

Very disappointed with our experience tonight.

Snitty night and I asked for mine with mushroom sauce.

There were only 7 tables with customers sitting in the dining room and 2 of those tables had already eaten. Our meals took over half an hour to be ready.

Put the sauce over my snitty, only to find it was Pepper Sauce. I took it back (because I don't do pepper sauce)

The blonde lady told me the man must have the mushroom sauce !!!!!!!!

Well NO because my man had a steak ( medium rare) with tomoato sauce.

She grabbed my plate and said she would get me another one. Ok great.

She threw the whole lot in the bin (From the noise it made I think she even threw the plate in). Talk about attitude !!!!!!!

Shortly after a new meal appeared.

Snitty was half the size of the original meal, and only had 11 chips on the plate. The rest of the plate was taken up with a humongous salad. Well lots of lettuce to fill the plate, a small piece of tomato and a piece of red capsicum. If you call that a salad.

This local gal won't be going back.
