The Oxford Hotel

We came here for the Sunday Roast advertised on website. When we ordered, we were told, the roast wasn't available.

Very quiet for a Friday night. Such a pity. Still a landmark if neglected by the old crowd.

I went for $10 Steak lunch deal on monday and a glass of cider. They charged me $18 I dont understand :D Is cider $8 a glass there Tee hee

It's a nice quiet place to have a few drinks. It mainly caters to LGBTQ crowd but that doesn't really mean anything as it is Oxford Street afterall. They serve reasonably price meals as well and you get a good look at passersby as the beer garden/verandah overlooks Taylor Square.

Sunday two meals for price of one !!! Such tasty big portions . Lovely atmosphere.

Came past here on a Sunday arvo en route to the city, two words: old males. That time frame only offered that crowd, cannot speak for other hours of trading.
Outdoor seating and two tables for smoking.

Great on Monday nights for $10.00 steak with chips salad and sauce. Reasonable house wines. Wish it was a bit busier, but a great experience none the less.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. We are visiting from the United States, it is our second night here. The bouncer from the Middle East or Southeast Asia or something denied three girls from going in because he said one of us was too intoxicated. We came from dinner at our hotel. He said that we couldn't go in because of Australian government rules. He was lying. If you guys denied clearly un-intoxicated people every night the Oxford Hotel wouldn't exist. Bouncers are not nice. Would not recommend.
