I went there for a night out with my friends recently. The staff were snippy and rude, even slammed my change down in front of me when I held my hand out. Ordered a steak medium rare, got well done with extra gristle. The worst part was going to the toilet and finding that someone had taken a dump in the urinal. Told the staff, was treated as a nuisance. The turd was still there when I left 3 hours later. Never again..

I feel sorry for the hotel when they were pressured /forced by the LGBITQ and their supporters to cancel Theology on Tap : topic was "Listening as a form of love." It has nothing to do with same sex marriage but, what LGBITQ doesn't like, it cannot be. We wished the pub didn't succumb to pressure but we understand.

Dear TOT Friends,
Unfortunately, we have had to cancel Theology on Tap on Monday night.
Our venue for TOT this year has today informed us that it can no longer host our event. This is due to the response from other patrons at the topic of same-sex marriage being mentioned in our previous talk on ‘Resilient Faith’.
We apologise for the inconvenience to you. We accept the decision made by the management of the hotel, and thank them for their great assistance with our previous events.
Stay tuned for our next TOT.

Australia supports both diversity and freedom of religion.
This establishment has made it clear they support bigotry, so they have lost our ongoing business and support.
Very in-Australian....

I've been a patron of the Rose for over ten years now, being part of a theatre company who performs at the Seymour regularly. Today I found out that the management decided to stop hosting a Catholic event at the pub (Theology on Tap), because a handful of customers complained (as they were "offended" by the content of the event and basically had anti-Catholic sentiments). This was a real "line in the sand" moment for this pub, who could have shown courage, justice, integrity and fairness to all. Instead they decided to crumble, probably out of fear, but nevertheless have chosen the path of discrimination, discriminating against Catholics because it "offends" a handful of customers.
I was proud of the pub to host the event in the first place - and thus show true diversity by being a space open to all, but am so very disappointed at this cowardly and ultimately discriminatory decision.
I will be encouraging the theatre company I am with, as well as our patrons who come to the Seymour, not to go to The Rose, but to visit The Two Wolves, just 5 minutes more down City Rd.
