The Staples Bag Description
Who We Are:
The Staples Bag is a community food project launched by Settlement Services International (SSI). SSI is a leading non-profit organisation providing services in the areas of humanitarian settlement, asylum seeker assistance, multicultural foster care, disability support and employment services.
Why We Created The Staples Bag:
SSI saw that food insecurity and hunger is a growing issue in Australia, with two million people relying on food relief each year. With this in mind, we created a community food project that makes it easy for people in need to access affordable staple groceries.
Where We Are:
In 2015 we opened The Staples Bag store in Campsie, a low-income suburb in Sydney’s inner west. We also collaborate with other non-profit organisations to host grocery pop-up stores at locations around Sydney (all locations are listed on our website). Through this we’re able to provide more than 100 bags of groceries each day to individuals and families in need.

I’ve always spoke highly of here and recommended it to so many ppl. But came in today for the first time in ages and I wasn’t impressed And very disappointed there was nothing much on the shelves. Where Before I would walk in and out with nearly a whole trolly today walking in and out with next to nothing in my trolly . Not as good as it use to be. $30 plus maybe $10 extra it what I use to spend and get nearly a weeks worth of meals today’s effort will last me 2 days.
