The Strand Arcade

This is a small arcade with boutique shops on both levels. The shops aren't cheap but have good quality goods so be prepared to pay higher prices of you decide to shop here. There are a great assortment of shops including a spice merchant, hat shop barbers shop and cafes to name a few. It also has one of Sydney's best coffee shops/cafes called Gumption. There is also a JB Hifi down stairs on the lowest level. So there's something for everyone.

I like the feeling when I step in, although I'm not shopping here a lot but I still love to feel the old design and elegance texture of this building. It is like 1960's or older. Sip a cup of coffee and feel the people passby I feel only my time had stop. I observe the details and start drunk in that atmosphere.

An iconic arcade leading off Pitt Street Mall in the city. Its a fabulous place to wander around and shop, it offers a mixtured blend of high end and mid range fashion boutiques, jewellery, shoes and accessory stores even somewhere to have your shoes shined. There are also lots of coffee shops and eateries sprinkled through this ornate arcade and best of all Haigh's Chocolate has a delicious store there. Well worth a visit.

It is a shopping arcade located in the heart of the city between and links Pitt Street and George Street. The arcade is one of the first Victorian buildings in Sydney. 3 storeys high, the arcade has the traditional-styled protruding galleries, cedar staircases, tiled floors, cast iron balusters and timber framed shop fronts, under a prominent, tinted glass roof to reduce glare. The arcade contains the preliminary boutiques that characterized the olf Sydney shopping experience.

Definitely a place to get good hats and shoes. Though not if you are on a budget.
If you just want to walk around and look at the architecture and feel the old world power. It has the very traditional look about it. The smells of yesteryear.

Love this historic arcade, most of the stores are too expensive for me, but I like to stroll through this wonderfully ornate building.

Very pretty with a few nice cafes and special shops. More up market. Especially good on rainy days because it's got a roof over it.

Polished colourful little flooring tiles bring you around the most elegant and ancient shopping arcade in town.
Selective nieche shops have their showcase here. Chilled and sophisticated ambience for expensive purchases.

The Strand has something for everyone. Tourists and locals will find something they need or want if they browse the entire arcade. There's a great buzz in this wonderfully maintained Victorian retail arcade. You'll find everything from jewelry to coffee to clothing on the ground floor. If you need a shoeshine, this is one of only 2 places in Sydney I am aware of that offer a proper shoe service. The 1st level offers all kinds of Australian women's designer clothes. The 2nd level, anchored by a nice restaurant at each end, offers custom men's tailoring and the best men's shoes in Sydney, Double Monk. It's hard to leave the Strand without something in your hands.

Lots of history within this building. This is another must visit in Sydney CBD. They kept this building well from the tile floors, to interesting staircases, to the roofs and ceilings. Not joking, go and visit the restroom in here, just to appreciate this building. Upper levels appears to be quiet which is very relaxing for shoppers. Downstairs cafes are great catch up places with friends. Atmosphere is good in here around Christmas time.

I've never found a place abroad that could handle my hair so well like they did, If I could, I would fly now to Sydney just to cut my hair with them.

What a great little small place. One of the best places to get great coffee, fantastic quality restaurants for lunch and dinner, and perfect shopping for a gift! Don't forget to take some nice photos from the top level.

Classy shops and the building itself is beautiful, people need to stop and have a good look, take a moment to appreciate this lovely architectural design!
