We were just as surprised as anyone to discover that Tassie veteran brewers @moobrewbrewery had never brewed an IPA. They said they wouldn’t, but now they have. And it’s a beauty. . We don’t get to see many beers from Hobart based Shambles Brewery in Sydney. Their “Cool Runnings” Whole Coffee Stout is one we’ve been very excited to try on tap for some time now. . Not just brewed with locally-roasted, single origin cold-brew from neighbouring roasters Zimmah Coffee, though that would be enough, Shambles have added cascara (the fruit of the coffee bean) to add another dimension of coffee to the brew. The beer is then exposed to both Co2 and nitro gas yield...ing a delicate, creamy mouthfeel. Coffee on the nose (no surprises there), roasted malt, cream and cocoa flavours on the palate. . We’re stoked to be pouring this alongside 4 other delicious Shambles beers at our Tasmanian Tap Showcase event this weekend, plus a shedload of other Tassie stunners from Two Metre Tall MOO BREW Van Dieman Brewing Morrison Brewery and Bruny Island Cheese Co. & Bruny Island Beer Co.! Every month, we invite one of our favourite breweries to join us for Ale Stars, Sydney's longest running Beer Appreciation sessions. Each session involves 4 beers, a 2-course dinner matched to the beers, a brewer Q&A, beer trivia and general banter.
This month, we'll be joined by Holgate Brewhouse, from Woodend in regional Victoria. Holgate are one of the oldest craft breweries in the country, and have been consistently brewing an amazing variety of beers for almost 20 years.
