The Tea Room Qvb Description
The Tea Room QVB was established in 1997 by Owner and Operator Manuel Spinola. In the past ten years The Tea Room QVB has evolved into one of Sydney's most beautiful dining establishments.
Located in what was once the original Grand Ballroom of Sydney's landmark Queen Victoria Building, The Tearoom epitomises unparalleled style and grace. Renovated in 2006 by Designed Annette Park, The Tea Room QVB boasts modern luxury features in a unique heritage setting.
General Manager Mark Holmes, previously of Salt Restaurant drives a team of highly sought after industry professionals to deliver the ultimate dining experience. Head Chef Rob Crichton's passion for serving fresh seasonal Australian produce ensures fine food accompanied by friendly professional service.
Traditional morning and afternoon tea is offered daily along with an a la carte lunch menu. The venue is available for exclusive breakfast, lunch, full day or evening hire.

The QVB celebrates 120 years! In celebration of this historic event, our Executive Chef has created three special sweets. Their inspiration and design is based on the QVB’s architecture and history, in order to pay homage to this magnificent building, in which we have operated The Tea Room for over 20 years;
Pistachio choux bun, pistachio cream and mini macaron - inspired by the dominant feature of the building. Layered Hazelnut Dacquoise, milk chocolate pralinoise, dark chocolate mousse, topped with golden rubble - celebrating the buildings survival after serious attempts were made to have it demolished in 1959. Quong Tart, light custard cream, mandarin & kiwi fruit, glazed & finished with gold leaf - in honour of Mei Quong Tart. The tart is made from an adapted recipe by Quong, with the gold leaf marking the QVB’s 120th year.

I felt really disappointed today. I have never been to The Tea Room before I have previously had High Tea at the Victoria Room and always thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately that establishment is now closed. I booked it about a month ago I stated it was a special occasion. The first thing I ate was a cold samosas the second thing was a Parmesan biscuit with a very weird filling. The chicken sandwich was tasty the other sandwiches were unpleasant. The alfalfa sprouts on the mini quiche were slimy and the rest of the food was average. Service was friendly but not polished. Very average for the price tag. Time to advertise for a new chef. Very disappointed �
