The Theatre Bar At The End Of The Wharf

Great views from the restaurant . A really nice place for lunch or dinner. The food was simple but high quality .

Amazing view, great decor, and reasonable selection of food and drinks - but they just never seem to get the bit about being a theatre bar right. Last night (far from the first time) we got out of our show at about 9:30 and want to grab a bite to eat. The full menu was at the entry - great we figure, and pick what we want. No, turns out they weren't doing 'large plates' any more (the menu lists both as 'til late). Then they had to work out if sides were okay or not. We ended up having a couple of snacks. Was mostly annoyed by the lack of communication. You have a massive sign at the entrance - use it! Or ensure your staff are clear on what is happening. Although it doesn't seem unreasonable to expect a theatre bar to be serving at the end of a show. This ongoing issue really tarnishes what is otherwise a reasonable bar/restaurant.

I have been working for almost two years in Hickson Road and this hidden gem of its caliber is my to go-to default when I suggest for a dining meet-up or a drink catch-up with friends. Perfect view, good food, nice ambiance and not so pricey. I even go here sometimes for my personal lunch because they have their very reasonable lunch specials for 20.00 AUD and comes with a glass of wine. The menu changes from time to time so I can say they are quite diverse. What else I could ask for to something that is already perfect, and that's my POV. Lastly this place is very local that you will see mostly workers from the area or adventurous Aussies. A good venue as well for some special occasion functions like a wedding reception.

Great place for a casual scenic waterside lunch or an evening drink and a cheese platter. If you get there before sunset you get the best of both worlds, but really, anytime is beautiful on the Harbour. The long long LONG walk to get to the end of the wharf totally delivers and your thirst will be amply rewarded. Also fun to people watch too if it's before a theatre performance.

Perfect setting. Excellent food and one of the best spots in Sydney for a drink. Service can be slow at times.

Most incredible views and simple genuine food. Amazing building. Can get crowded. Been there for a work lunch but then didn't want to leave.

Excellent atmosphere & quality food without being ostentatious. Adjacent to the Sydney Theatre Co. Pier 4. Think warm industrial, great vibe, mixed vibrant crowd. Extensive sparkling views across the harbour from anywhere inside. I loved the Moroccan Super Bowl, cheese platters to share, great selection of wines. Well priced given the location. Perfect with or without some Theatre next door.
It's on my 'sure thing' list. Friends from out of town? Bring them here for dinner. Stroll up to the Rocks area afterward for close Opera House views etc.

Friendly staff and great chilled atmosphere. Came here as a solo traveller one night and relaxed myself.

Great views into the harbour. Can get really hot in certain areas of the bar, but you can move. Pretty decent prices and okay snacks available.

Awsome place to get out with friends but can be noisy on weekends. Theatre is part of it, so nice place for visit before or after play. Recommend.

Great spot for drinks and nice view. Was not too busy on a Saturday around 5pm. Good for big groups. Has a closed off area for small events. Interesting cocktail jugs. Clean bathrooms as well.
