The Traditional Furniture Restorer is a family business providing quality furniture restoration services, from early antiques through to deco, retro and quality modern furniture. Our workshop in Waramanga has been repairing and restoring furniture for over 15 years.


The Team

Garry McLaughlin, French Polisher - Garry is a qualified craftsman, awarded 1988 Leading Apprentice of the year. Commencing his trade over 30 years ago, he has vast experience in the furniture construction and restoration industry. Working in all facets of the industry, Garry has experience with office furniture on a modern production line, quality antique reproduction, through to practising the true craft of hand polishing in antique restoration.

Tara McLaughlin, Apprentice French Polisher - Tara has been assisting me in the workshop since the age of 8 years. After she completed her year 12 Certificate and proudly topping her woodwork classes at school and undertaking tertiary studies and travelling the world. She has commence her apprenticeship in French Polishing. She has a passion for antiques and Collectables, especially Retro! Tara's interest and skill in restoring is beyond her years.

Caine Gough, Apprentice French Polisher -
As been a part of the team since 2015. He undertook his Collage work experience with us and quickly proved that he has the interest, keenness and ability to become a craftsman. He commenced his apprentice in 2016 and his ability is growing daily and his keenness shows no sign of waning. An apprentice of old!
