The Web Guy is me, Daniel Weinstein, a 30 year veteran of the IT industry. I can help you get started with social media and internet marketing.

Most of us are intimidated by technology. It's completely understandable of course, technology is so big, so complex and changing so fast that no one really knows how it all works. All you can do is work out how to use the parts you want and leave the rest to the boffins. That's all anyone can do. But the real question is "what parts of this vast maze of technology do I really want or need?". Most of use want or need email and many have been getting comfortable with Facebook. Do they do everything you want or need, or is there more you'd like to do?

Do you have a story to tell? For most people the answer to that question is "Yes". You might want to have an outlet to express your opinions. You might be a writer who wants to be published or an artist /photographer who wants to showcase your portfolio. You might have a business or a product that you want people to know about. The internet gives us all the ability to reach the world with whatever we have to say or whatever we have to sell.

But you already knew that. The problem is that technology is intimidating. Maybe you've been interested in starting a blog, but the process is scary and you keep putting it off. You know that using the internet to promote your business is a good idea, but somehow you keep putting it off. Technology is complex. It's an invitation to procrastination.

One solution would be to hire someone to create a website for you. However, you know in advance that the person you hire won't really understand what you're trying to do and will be expensive.

Another solution would be to sit down and try to figure it out for yourself. This is an excellent solution because it means you'll really learn how to do it. The down side is that it will take a very long time and besides, figure what out? Where do you start?

My mission is to help you get started. I want to work with you to figure you what you'd really like to do and then walk you through a process that will get you there in baby steps. I want to empower you to take control of the web for whatever you want to do with it.
