Our family is currently watching the Netflix series, The Joy of Techs, which features very funny reviews of a whole lot of tech stuff. Last night we were watching episode 6, "Housework Hell", and the Thermomix popped as a test product. One host made custard in the Thermomix, while the other made it the "old-fashioned" way on the stovetop. The Thermomix got rave reviews and both hosts said they wanted one and that it was definitely worth the money. One of the hosts, Alexis Conran, won UK Celebrity Masterchef 2016 so he should know a thing or two about cooking. https://www.netflix.com/au/title/80233518

I love this TED-ed video by Dr Shilpa Ravella on the functions of gut bacteria and how we can increase and sustain the good bacteria in our gut. Invest just 5 minutes and you will learn so much about what foods are rich in probiotics and prebiotics to benefit your gut microbiota. https://www.youtube.com/watch…

💚Why I'm still in Love 💚 Besides my one true love - my hubby - and my kids, my Thermomix is still a love of my life. I use it everyday to eat healthy, whole foods without worrying about additives and preservatives in my food. No reading labels or feeling guilty for adding artificial "food' from jars or packets. Hand on heart when I say my Thermomix is a life-saver - giving me back precious time while still eating the way I want to.
You may love your Thermomix for different r...easons - and that's ok. Don't worry if you aren't using it to cook dishes everyday. Maybe you use it for making smoothies and sauces, or dishes that are time-consuming like risotto. Or maybe it's a saviour when it comes to making side dishes such as mashed potato or coleslaw. There are no rules in Thermomixland and no right or wrong ways to utilise it in the kitchen. The main thing is that you are using it and you love it no matter what you are making. Happy Cooking! Tonia xx

Gluten is the number 1 enemy of those with celiac disease and those who have gluten-related digestive problems, and while manufactured gluten-free products eliminate gluten they may contain other ingredients that can cause health problems. Making your own food and knowing exactly what’s in it is the only way of knowing what you are eating 💚

Vegetable Gratin Why haven’t I thought of this before??
Method 1. Thinly slice whatever veggies you have in your crisper (I used pumpkin, sweet potato, leek, green beans, cauliflower, baby spinach and carrots) and place in a shallow casserole dish.
... 2. Make a béchamel sauce (BCB recipe). I make it with 300g homemade chicken stock and 200g cow’s milk. Pour sauce over veggies.
3. Make crunchy topping by chopping 100g sourdough bread, 2 garlic cloves, 2 sprigs parsley, 1 sprig rosemary and 2 tablespoons olive oil for 10sec/speed 8. Sprinkle over veggies and bake 45mins@180C . Serve as a main or as a side dish 😋

Can you imagine having these amazing people in the same room together? Well they were yesterday at The Mindful Mama fundraising event held yesterday to stop the proposed Central Coast Coal mine.
Lisa Corduff from Small Steps Living Holly Davis from foodbyhollydavis.com Alexx Stuart from Low Tox Life... Jude Blereau from Wholefood Cooking and Brenda Janschek from Lifestyle & Health
All DONATED their time (and books!) to raise money and awareness regarding the proposed Wallarah 2 coal mine, which is set to destroy the sensitive water catchment that supplies the entire Central Coast region.
My head is still buzzing with ways to detox my home, how to implement changes one step at a time and plenty of new recipes to try.
There is one more event in the 3 part series "A happy home: practical solutions for overcoming overwhelm + finding fun in everyday life" on the 8th of September. I could not recommend this event highly enough 😀

I’ve just committed a cardinal sin - Cake before dinner!! This Orange & Lemon Cake smelt so good that I just had to have a taste, purely for quality control purposes! And what started out as a taste ended up being 2 big slices! Oh my!!! This has become my new favourite cake. Recipe on it’s way asap 😋😋😋
