Think Purple Art Studios Description
kay lloyd is an artist with an eclectic taste. She comes from a fine art background and her work has changed and grown throughout the years. She now enjoys every aspect of art and creativity, from painting canvas, walls, or furniture there isn't anything she doesn't enjoy doing when it comes to the creative process. Her art itself is very bright, colourful, fun and pretty. She has a passion for flowers especially wild flowers and just loves nature. Over the years kay has taught art in various mediums across the globe, she loves to work with kids and adults alike and loves to sit and have a chat over a cuppa and an easel with the older generation, with all the passion and love she has for the world of art she has opened up an art studio where people of all ages can come and enjoy the entire process of art making, in a very unpretentious, relaxed environment. kay is down to earth, very approachable and wants people to feel happy, joyful and positive in every aspect of their lives. She believes that anyone can achieve this through the process of art. She uses 'art as therapy' and wants to teach others the power of using their right hand, intuitive, creative brains to help with self- awareness, self discovery and self healing. With all this in mind kay wanted to find a space where people can express themselves through any art medium and be surrounded by other creative souls and a space where people can explore their own creative expression, not be told what or how things should be done but be allowed to explore and play with their own flow of creativity. All the classes and workshops offered at the studios will work on this philosophy, and empower people to explore their own individual creative pursuits.
This is the meaning behind "think purple" and why it is a phrase that holds so dear in her heart.
to 'think purple' means to live every moment in the perfect balance of joy, happiness and positivity. Living a life in this way is contagious and rubs off on the people we come into contact with on a daily basis. purple is genderless and contains the right amount of masculine and feminine tones. It is a way of being and living and thinking purple has been family motto my ENTIRE life. . . .
When she was a child and had anxieties or worries her father would ask " kay, what colour is it?" her response always had to be " purple Dad, its purple" . To this day they still end every conversation with this saying. and it has become a mantra of hers and she now uses it daily with her daughter .
With such a powerful meaning behind it she just had to use it for her art studios. she wants everyone who comes for classes, workshops and lessons to feel joyful and happy in the flow of the creative process . she is PASSIONATE about fostering creativity with every age group. she is probably obsessed lol with the process of art making. as to her it has always been in the journey of ANYTHING that we grow, learn and gain greater insight and self awareness into ourselves. The end product is the small part.

Well here it is. I've been asked so many times to run this workshop. So I am.
... During the holidays I had so much fun with the kids pouring acrylics and creating mandalas, that all the PARENTS wanted to do it too.!! .
So get your friends together on the 11th of November at 11am (NSW TIME) and join me at the studio, where we will have fun pouring acrylic paint and creating relaxing dot mandalas, while gigglying drinking lots of tea and eating lots of bickies
I am putting the 2 workshops together so we can extend the time and really get lost in the flow of our creativity and play with our inner child for a few hours.
So what will we do exactly 1) You will learn how to mix the right paints & pouring mediums to get the correct consistency, suitable for acrylic pour. 2) You will get to create 2 pieces of acrylic pour work both done on canvas. and both using the dirty pour techniques. (the price includes 2 canvases and all materials, paints and mediums needed for this process, if however you get carried away and wish to do addtional pieces you may buy more canvas on the night at an EXTRA cost) 3) You can choose from an array of colours to create the perfect swirly dreamy artwork. 4) Please note that acrylic pours take a few days to cure completely so your work won't be safe to take home that night .If you do wish to take it home on the night you do so at your own risk.
When we have created and played with the pours will shall refill the kettle sit and whyle away an hour or so painitng beauitful dot mandalas.
Mandala is an ancient sanskrit word meaning roughly 'circle'. In essence, mandalas represent the connection between our inner worlds and outer reality. Designing your own mandalas can be both inspirational and therapeutic.and I use them a lot for my 'active meditation'. There is something so self soothing and relaxing about creating your own mandala. Recently I have been enjoying the process of dot mandalas and the results have been calming, relaxing, fun and I have gained a greater insight into my inner world.
So please come and play I am only taking a few participants per workshop.
COST: $155 includes 3 canvases (2 for the acrylic pour and 1 for the mandala dot art) also includes all materials paints and solutions required to create these art works. gloves will be provided to protect hands. wear old clothes it gets messy. TIME: 11am- 2pm NSW TIME sunday 11th November

kIds afternoon art sessions kicked off for term 4 with a very relaxing session of Mandala art. I love seeing how the kids really get into this stuff. I had a young girl who usually gets quite distracted after 15 to 20 mins sit for an entire hour escaping into the mindfulness of this art exercise. lovely to see xxx
