This Life List Description
At the age of 47 I had a moment of reflection. Actually it was more of an emotional breakdown.
I couldn’t understand why I wasn’t happy and contented, I was living the dream. I had a loving family, a big new home, a very steady career which I was very good at, I was healthy and still playing competitive sport. What was wrong?
I did some soul searching and thought about all the really happy times of my life, they all contained one common theme. I was most happy when I was having new experiences. I loved teaching people how to surf, or guiding them through the Australian bush. I love to travel, eat new foods, meet new and interesting people and I was really happy to try anything new at least once.
Then and there I decided to write a list of experiences I wanted to have before I died. The list started small but grew very quickly and This Life List was created. That was the easy part.
Then I came to the realisation how am I going to find the time and the resources to have these remarkable experiences? I did some investigating and that is how “This Life List” blog and social media pages came into existence. The blog is my way to record these life changing experiences, as well as generate an income to finance my lifestyle and most importantly I hope to inspire others to create their own Life List and use the knowledge I have gained to assist them in achieving their own goals.
I often get asked why I labelled it This Life List? Why not My Life List or The Life List? The simple answer is I wanted to fulfil my dreams in THIS life, not a life that happens in the movies, not one that starts when I obtain enough money or when I win the lottery, or when someone holds my hand and helps me do these things. It is about This Life you are living right now. You need to take charge and make it happen right now.
