Thornbury Lodge

Winter is certainly hear at Thornbury. It’s cold outside (and the possibility of snow )but our guests have been enjoying the central heating and log fire. Can you picture yourself with a group of good friends drinking your favourite red wine? We have one winter weekend available ( the 24th August).

Remember 2015? The snow!!!! This year is forecast to be as cold. I can’t believe winters nearly here and we still have a couple of weekends available during August. There are also great week night discounts available up to the end of August.

What a great Autumn morning at Thornbury

Thornbury Lodge is a few kilometres north of Bald Rock. On the way there are numerous waterfalls and fabulous swimming holes and great walks.

Heads up for people wanting to make Thornbury their base for the Apple and Grape Harvest festival.

For those guests who visit Thornbury Lodge check out this gem. I discovered this spectacular place with friends while hiking in the South Bald Rock national park.

With the days beginning to be noticeably shorter the trees are starting to colour. My favourite time of year. If your looking for a winter getaway and looking to sit beside a large log fire. It doesn’t come any better than at Thornbury Lodge. We still have a couple of weekends available in June. There are still some week nights available in July ( discount rate applies) There are a couple of weekends available in August.

As past guests would realise Thornbury has no WFI. We have chosen not to provide this service for a reason. This being from feedback from guests preferring to have a secluded uncomplicated stay instead of spending all their time using the internet. However it’s been a while since our last survey so we are asking for feed back from past and future guests. Would you prefer we supplied WFI? Your feed back is greatly appreciated.

What a difference rain can make. The gardens are spectacular at the moment. I just realised we have a weekend vacant in March (16th & 17th )Such a shame not to have someone enjoy the cool Autumn nights at Thornbury. For a group booking ask for our last minute discount. ( direct booking only)

Another 200 bales of mulch for the garden at Thornbury. The recent rains have done wonders for the gardens after a dry January. Come and check out the Autumn colours we still have some nights available.

Hi all, Those who have stayed at Thornbury may have noticed our Augus bull " Raffa" in the front paddock. Raffa has recently moved to another property. Guests entering Thornbury now will get to meet"Nindy" ( a Brangus bull) He's a big friendly guy so stop and say hi. Stay on the other side of the fence though. He's not that friendly. ... Apologies to our followers for lack of updates. Winter has been our busiest yet. (We must be getting it right) Wendy has been hopping keeping Thornbury spotless. Bob has begun to swap the wood splitter for the ride-on mower. The gardens are currently looking "blooming" gorgeous despite lack of winter rain. ...
