Tonights DIY project- I put an old woven basket I had no need for upside down under my sealing and transformed it into a lampshade. Very happy with the result, the pattern of shadows on walls is pretty cool ❤️

More colour hunting today! I found some yellow spots at picturesque Lake Canobolas, only a 20min drive away from Timber Tales. The wattles are out.. first sign of spring 😍

A friend of mine just had her first baby girl and called her Willow Rose. How cool is it to be named after a tree and a flower ❤️

Standing behind the front counter can be quite entertaining sometimes. A lady came in today telling me 'so great to see you again, gorgeous!' and 'oh, how I missed your coffee!' I swear I have never seen her before. Nevertheless, I put on my brightest smile and served her 'my usual coffee, love'. The guy in line behind her, also a stranger travelling to Canberra, must have sensed my confusion and I told him 'to be honest, I have no idea who she was!'. We had a laugh and a chat and when I gave him his coffee he said 'Oh, it was lovely seeing you again!' Haha! I asked 'how are the kids going?' and he was on his way. This is as much a people business as it is a coffee business, you never know who walks through the old timber door <3 And hopefully I remember tonight who that lady was........

Often people tell me they are not creative. Not true!! Think about what you create every day in your kitchen, your garden, in relationships etc. Being creative is about thinking outside the box. Dare to be different, express yourself in a way you enjoy, find your own style #create #becreative #beyou

I have lost count how many times someone asked me 'why I opened a coffee shop in Cargo, of all places in the world?' ... Cargo is Country Australia. That's why. A place where a guy takes off his muddy boots before he enters the shop. A place where someone brings in a box of kindling 'to keep your fire going'. A place where a CWA lady drops off some flyers and tells me about her first great grandchild born. A place where old Bob comes in to buy a coffee- "Do you want a Cappuc...cino or a Flat White or a Long Black, mate?" "Naa, just a normal coffee, love" A place where everyone carries their dirty dishes to the front counter when they have finished. A place where the locals come around the front counter when it's busy and I'm on my own, give me a hand and tell me I can pay them in coffees. That's only a few reasons why I love having a coffee shop in the country <3

Me this morning 😂 Sorry Tina! But I mostly remember my regular customers coffees, ha!

This one is gold!! Living in a farming community, I met a lot of our local farmers since I opened my shop, they appreciate a nice cuppa and are always up for a yarn. Down to earth, hard working, practical, loving their animals and the land they have been on for many generations. At the moment so many of them are affected by the current drought which is the worst this generation has seen. The lack of rain is slowly taking away their livelihood and many of them are getting desperate. Cargo Village Market is on this Sunday from 10-2pm and we are FUNDRAISING FOR AUSSIE HELPERS. Timber Tales will donate 50c for every coffee sold and Jaffa the Labrador will try to help his fellow canine farm dog mates, too, by giving his best pats for a 50c donation in his little money box. Please share the word and come along for a fun day :) Cya there!
