Banksia Open Day – Wednesday 16th and Saturday 19th May Tinonee Gardens’ new “Banksia” welcomed curious members of the public to its first Open Day today. Visitors were treated to personal tours of this modern and spacious state of the art facility with an opportunity to enjoy a cuppa and talk further with our expert staff regarding their loved one’s care choices. The Tinonee Residents Choir joyfully reprised their concert repertoire entertaining our visitors with this much l...oved community activity. 2NUR-FM’s Kim Player was our special guest this morning speaking with Banksia Care Manager, Cate Johnson, and new residents and family members describing the benefits of living in Banksia. You may have heard their stories on 2NUR-FM throughout the day. Special thanks to our generous sponsors which have made kind donations to welcome and inform our visitors - we couldn’t do it without you! And some lucky visitors will enjoy the spoils of the great prizes included in the major raffle to be drawn on Saturday’s Open Day. Visitors Helen Bower and friend had the honour of cutting the cake to congratulate Banksia at this exciting time. And remember, there’s a second chance to take a tour and find out more about what Banksia has to offer at the Open Day being held this Saturday 19th May. All Welcome!

ANZAC DAY SERVICE Dozens of Residents paid their respects to our fallen soldiers at Tinonee Gardens’ Anzac Day service held on 23rd April. Each resident wore a hand crocheted red poppy made by our residents and friends.
Molly Hughes, Julie Prince, Lorna Morgan, Ron Jackson and Ken Watkins laid the wreaths underneath the Australian flag. Ron Jackson read the Ode, from Binyon’s poem For the fallen.
... Alan Stuart, retired Uniting Church Minister known to the Tinonee community, kindly conducted the solemn service. Bugler Janelle Riggs wrapped up the ceremony performing the Last Post, followed by silence for personal reflection.
