Worst staff ever! They treat you like a criminal when you walk in and they have ugly clothes anyway

Good range of clothing & shoes but some items are still quite expensive!

Bargains. We have found it cheaper than the big stores on the same items.

A top store with a good range of clothes, homewares and furniture I didn't expect to find, some things were a little pricey however hence the 3 stars

Okay, so it was pretty expensive to shop at but it had such a good range of things! I bought some black leather shoes (made in Italy!!) for $50 and I've been wearing them so much. The black is coming off, so I'll need to polish them but I'm very happy that they are still together and not hole-y yet.

I would recommend this store if you're willing to spend a bit extra for quality.

The switch over from Trade Secret to TK Maxx is yet to impress, the menswear section in particular is about on par with the local charity shops, poorly stocked and hardly anything of quality. Homewares was mediocre at best. Overall layout makes it feel more like a garage sale than a retail store, if that's what it's trying to be, if it's trying to be a discount outlet then it's a poor imitation of one in comparison to the likes at DFO. With an ounce of effort and an expanded range they'd probably do well but at this stage I'd be surprised if they last.

Remarketed trade secret , including same stick that was at trade secret a few months ago.

Tkmaxx is awesome, I love the treasure hunt.

Good turn over of stock. Lots of bargains to be had. Plenty of seasonal wear however limited larger sizes for men.

I love shopping here.. I've found some of my favourite clothes here and prices are great :)

Almost like a Reject Shop and Target had a baby shop. Good size and plenty to browse

Factory outlet prices. Very good place to buy high quality branded clothes at a significant discount. Also a good place to pickup gifts

If you want to buy clothes for cheap price this is the place to go.
It's constantly renovating so ease to move around does become an issue.

Real bad atmosphere with staff that would rather be busy doing shelf stacking then help customers.

Was an absolute waste of my time, store was about the size of a small IGA supermarket, stock looked like it was thrown on the shelves hours before opening, very poor selection of generic products, already had “clearance” clothing racks on day 1 of opening? Not impressed at all. You’re better off going to Target, K Mart, Big W etc….on a positive note they did have some Ivanka Trump clothing on show which was amusing!

For a newly opened store with extensive publicity, the store was disorganised and underwhelming. Store looks mostly empty with limited stocks and mechanise were all over the place, including in the middle of walkways. It just feels like you have walked into a closing down Reject Shop.

Prices was reasonable for low to medium quality products. Really feels like a version of Kmart for middle age people.

Great variety and price, a big parking lots. Staffs are wonderful.

Love the range and value for money.

Feels like Vinnies, an assortment of random stuff, most clothes only has one piece. You can probably find some really good bargains here, but only you have a whole day to go through everything piece by piece.

To maxx is the best store in Australia

Prices (already reduced) of almost men clothing at TK Maxx Fairfield NSW are much higher than sale prices at Myers Roselands and higher than its old name as Trade Secret and more expensive than TK Maxx in UK and TJ Maxx in USA. Very disappointed 😞

Broken aircon and slow service.. just cant wait to get out !

You can grab a bargain here but please fix the air conditioning. The store's aircond hadn't been working for almost a month now and is do stuffy inside during the summer heat.

I know this chain from the UK but it’s a very different story here in Australia. The staff is unfriendly and not helpful at all. Only 2 fitting rooms for men so prepare to wait long in the line. This made me feel like we aren’t welcome in the store. Very poor experience :(
Weekend waiting times to are 30 min or more! In contrary there are no queues for women because they have 10 more cabins available. Can’t recommend to anyone who appreciates their dignity and free time.

Love this shop. But they seriously need to do something about the trolley/baskets... not having enough to supply all there customers is a joke. Walked out because I was sick of holding everything with my bare hands.

If your a very good bargain shooper, you can get a good one. Today I didn't get one. Last previous week I got running shoes and a pants. The price was reasonable.

Whole level full of great items. Just grabbed 2 check-in luggage bags for under $200 !

So nice to walk into a TKMaxx here in Australia. Finally no need to bring a second bag when traveling overseas. They have increased their Stock and range (including Homewares), from when they first opened. I felt I was back in the USA or Europe. Prices are on par with overseas. Can't wait to see more stores open. Finally a proper outlet store.

Good prices, can be hard to find things though.

You can grey some cheap clothes and homewares here, cheap in comparison to your department store or normal brand name retail outlet. Sure, it's probably not the latest line, but who cares when you can get a 3 pack of brand name undies for $7.

Really really like trade secret and you can pick up some great bargains here! There's both women's, men's, kid's clothing and accessories (shoes, bags, hats ect) here. There's also homewares, luggage, cosmetics, bath products, towels, linen and some confection. You do need luck on your side a bit here, it does get pick over and it's good to come often. Staff are super friendly and polite here. The store is also very tidy and clean. I have never had much luck with their clothes as a woman and I have almost stopped looking. That's why this place is missing a star.

Great place to grab well priced branded business clothes. Not so sure about the recent renovations that focus on household items rather than clothes.

Messy store with young staff (presumably to keep costs low), stuff everywhere especially storage of towels is a mess with people shoving towels back in and staff not tidying. It might be better to hang towels on racks instead of just randomly stacking. Extremely dusty in the homewares department, the rest is not too bad. Comments from others in the store: "When I first walked in I thought it was a Salvos" "A Salvos would be cleaner!"

Lots of products to choose from…unfortunately everything is thrown about & no care is taken with items (by customers & some staff) so after a few days items are damaged & looked haggered!

I would only purchase items when I see have just been put out…but if you come back after a few days later you will see the scratches & damages to them, for eg handbags!

I don’t understand why the very expense items aren’t at least put on shelves & or taken care of?!
I wouldn’t pay a large amount of money for anything after seeing it on the ground, being stepped on & played with by young children with dirty fingers!

The staff look exhausted & it’s never ending for tidying up in each department. I really feel sorry for them! I haven’t encountered anyone that’s rude, but I can understand their frustration!

The clothing department needs a steam iron (even stores like Rockmans & Susanne Grae use these & their clothing looks amazing)!
Instead you have clothing rakes at even at Salvos look better!

Come on TK Maxx, pick up your game!

This branch used to have great storage containers & the Bonds branded clothing was a plus also, but unfortunately it’s very slim pickings now & no one knows when items come back.

So if you have time to sort through the mess, you will find great items at good prices.

Hopefully one day we will have a real British TK Maxx , unfortunately at the meantime there is only local brands and very poor varieties of clothing.

I can only provide a one star rating because there is not enough changing rooms to try on clothes. Theres been times where I've had to wait close to ten minutes for a changing room to become available.

A good observation.
TKMaxx has taken over former 'Trade Secret' stores.
And review rating is being continued on all their stores.
It is either everyone's favourite Google (not mine) or TKMaxx has overlooked this or deliberately did not do anything.
I used to like their stores in UK for certain things.
I shall send an email to TKMaxx notifying of review rating issue.

Interesting to see "reviews" here from months and even years ago when the store has been barely open a month! Seems a bit dodge...

Bit ho-hum compared to its predecessor. Range isn't what it used to be before the takeover.

Best Trade secret in Newcastle. It has a very good selection of everything.

i love their 70% most things, most things last longer when they quality and designer things are nice occasionally. ..but trade secret makes it affordable for designer fancy things.....they have a good store layout. the staff are mostly friendly. its as a nice place to window shopping.....yiu can find things here that will not be in over shops.........excellant trolleys

Great variety of items that are quality at great prices

You have to dig deep to find the real secrets. I've not spent more than 15 bucks on a single item.
Used to have more clearance racks up in the back corner, but they have gone and the store is looking emptier than it should do.

The first place I go before I go to others

Over priced old stock most of which you could probably get cheaper elsewhere

I really like the clothing here, it's good quality and interesting. Often you can't find clothing like this in other places. It tends to be quite pricey for the average person to shop here but there is a clearance section where you can get some nice clothes for a good price.

Rude arrogant staff who go out of the way to make you feel you're in their way.
