Nothing but terrific care and attention. I think that the reviews previously posted were inaccurate in my experience.

It was a shocking experience this hospital is disgraceful the treatment of patients is terrible my mum was admitted there and because she is 97 it was like they couldnt of cared less about her the staff were so rude and un caring i can't believe how they treat their patients its disgraceful

Hundreds of Millions of dollars, numerious inquiries and studies, promise after promise after promise to fix the the health system a...n...d after 5.5 hours of waiting my son got no service. Still bleeding I guess if he'd stay for another hour they might have given him a blood transfusion.
But the headshed (Government) still have money to throw around on so much other useless and meaningless rubbish.
God may save the Queen but our pollies wont be saving the sick.
Nor Tomaree Polly Clinic.
Holidays here soon this will be interesting. Maybe go straight to John Hunter. Been there before only a 3 hour wait there.

Absolutely disgusted with the rudeness of staff and unprofessional practice. Did not make my 10 week old baby a priority despite having a horrible rash and was lethargic. Nurse did not even take his temperature! Hopeless

Every time I've been there you couldn't ask for any better treatment.
The Drs, nurses and rest of the staff are very professional and caring.
Would like to say Thank You to all.

My toddler got high fever at 2am. We didn't have any medicine. This was the only place we could go. The nurse was good.

For minor injury and illness Tomaree Hosp. is adequate. The nursing staff is particularly good. However, the place is a potential health hazard because of its tendency to hang on to patients who should be transferred to better equipped and trained hospitals like the Mater and John Hunter at Newcastle. 2 out 3 of our household have been left with permanent disabilities as a result of the negligence of overseeing medical staff at Tomaree. One involved stroke, the other back trauma. Despite presenting with classic symptoms of stroke, Tomaree Hosp sent the patient home, then upon being re-admitted the next day, did not refer the patient for any objective medical testing for stroke. Just gave bed rest and misdiagnosed the patient's condition. Upon insistence of relatives who threatened complaint the patient was eventually transferred to the Mater 3 days after the stroke - too late for any treatment.

The same type of situation occurred with the back trauma - when time was of the essence and the patient was going paralysed and begging to be transferred to emergency care in Newcastle, Tomaree left him languishing in one of their beds for 18 hours as he lost sensation to ankles, feet, bowels and bladder. As a result of the extensive delay caused by this Hosp's negligence, he has been left with permanent disability just like the stroke victim. He was operated on within hours of arriving at the Hunter with the surgeon furious that the patient had been delayed by Tomaree Hosp.

This hosp (polyclinic) is no place for serious injuries requiring a modern hosp like John Hunter and it is a travesty that it imagines itself a hosp able to treat more serious cases. If you are seriously ill or injured in the Bay get yourself to the Hunter. If being dealt with by Ambulance insist you be taken to the Mater or John Hunter. Ambulance officers will want to take you to local hosp because of procedures, but you have the right to insist upon being taken to Newcastle because you believe the local hosp is inadequate, which it is except for minor illness, injury and bed rest,
