Toni-Anne has great customer service and made the whole pick up experience very easy, answered all our questions and had all the information.
The vehicle we received was great, didn’t have a problem with it for the 6 weeks we hired it, did have to change a tyer, but overall great value for money. The company sorted out a new tyer for us right away, which we picked up the next day and only took an hour!

Station Wagon was in very pore condition just had to pray it didn't brake down on our 11 day planned trip as they would not replace car .recommend customers read disclaimers very carefully. From what i could see most cars and vans not very road worthy

Reversed into by one of their cars which then drove away. Despite multiple witnesses they expressed no interest in compensating me.

Travellers Autobarn- a good choice to get around- good value for money.

The Pickup in Perth was unfortunately delayed due to some technical issues but the staff was so kind to move the drop-off to a later time. There is also a really nice sandwich restaurant. Go there for a snack before you hit the raod.
Being able to pre-check in via an online form was very convenient and speed up the check in process.
The way of taking notes of the already dented or scratched parts of the Camper was excellent. The introduction video was also helpful and easy - you get what you expect.
The extra information given and the road map was a nice bonus and it was easy to look up things while making your way to the next stop. You can also get a 10% Discount at certain campgrounds which was pretty cool.
Being on the road for 15 days without any incident or issues in general was just awesome. Even the big Hi5 Camper automatic was super easy to drive, even for my mate who had never driven a larger car before.
However remember not to drive from dusk till dawn. While crossing the Nullarbor we saw heaps of dead Kangaroos. It’s much safer during the day :) and you can see the alive ones better. As well as Emus, Alpacas and what not, walking along the raod.
Make sure you’ll find at least one campground where there is no light anywhere near and no bigger city close by. You’ll be able to see the milky way if you look up ;)
Traveling during the Australian winter is actually not too bad. Campgrounds are cheaper, no mosquitos, it’s not busy at the sights, yaay. and not too hot in the van. I’d take my own sleeping bag next time though, the ones from the Van were too cold for me. Quick Tip- if you travel during winter, make sure you get the heater. It’s small but does a good job- totally worth it.
Sleeping up is not ideal for claustrophobic people as there is not much space between you and the ceiling. It’s doable though and even sleeping up there with two people is manageable.
The car has a great way of circulating the air as there was never thick air even in the morning and no wet windows from breathing as one might think.
There is also not much space to store luggage so make sure you bring soft bags to squeeze them under the back seats. You also don’t need that much as they supply sleeping bags, towels, pillows, cutlery, pots, cups, kettle and plates. The van also had an AUX cord which was amazing and ee could play our music.
I’ve heard that sitting in the back is not that comfortable. Just use pillows to make it more comfortable. The seats in the front are quite comfy and there is space for your coffee, phone, maps, etc.

The best thing about the Van is probably that you can stop anywhere, turn on the gas and cook for yourself a little something while enjoying awesome views. You can also transform it in a two bedroom in approx. 10 minutes. It’s super easy.
After 15 Days driving and sleeping in the Van I can say that it was a nice experience and it’s a reliable car. It definitely can be a home for a certain amount of time. Also driving up and down the mountains on small roads went super smooth, you might not think so but it works.
The Drop-off in Sydney went smooth and quick, with a little survey at the end.

I'd do it again :)
Cheers

I have had the best experience with Travelers Autobarn.

The vehicle was very clean and it had everything I needed for three weeks trip. It is well designed with everything you need on the road. Water tanks are enough for three days use. easy to fill up fresh water and depose of the Gray water with all the connections inside the storage are. It had enough storage for all my bags. the LPG gas bottle was enough for me the whole trip and can be filled in any petrol station and it had the generic connection. battery had enough charge to last. I was freedom camping most of the time and I didn't need to go to campsite. It has a 2xUSB charging ports to charging while you camping. It has electricity points if you connected the Van to powered site. The van have enough space to stand up comfortably with no issues(I am 6.2).

Mechanically the van was great. I drove almost 4000km with not a single issues.

The staff member both on pickup and drop off were very professional and helpful. On pick up they recommended some places to go which was great. Joseph was great and explained everything about the vehicle and gave me enough tips for driving in NZ. I had to call the centre twice in my trip. The staff answered and helped me in every way I needed.
When dropping the van off staff were very welcoming and made the transaction very fast and easy.

I highly recommend this company staff members are very professional and makes you feel like family. The vehicle is fully equipped with everything you need, and it was in great mechanical conditions.

Thank you Joseph, Mike, and everyone else I dealt with.
Great experience in every aspect of It

In April 2017 I rented a Hi5 Camper from Travellers Autobarn Sydney. My overall impression was great, especially concerning the friendly and competent staff.
We arrived at 09:00 on the pickup day and waited for maybe 30 min as we had a couple of clients waiting already. Good atmosphere, free coffee, all fine.

What surprised me was that the car - a Toyota Hiace - was build in 2007 and already had 531.000 km. The car itself was in good condition, clean, smelled good, clean fridge,.. all well given its age and mileage.
Still, this may be not what you are used to when renting an "ordinary" car, these vehicles should have max 2 years or 50.000 km. A good car, but just don't be surprised .:)

The rental price of the car was about 110 $ per day, though consider that you practically cannot legally camp outside of camping spots that charged us around 70$ per night on average for 3 adults and 2 kids.
Our average fuel consumption was 13,5l on 100 km, adding another 30$ to our daily spendings. This, of course, varies with your personal usage pattern,..

Keep this in mind, and maybe go for a tent if you are on a tight budget :)

We had a verbal agreement besides the written contract which was fulfilled properly and on time, thanks again for not making this a hassle.

After all, reliable people and a good deal for the money, thus I'd surely hire again from you guys.

Great value for money! Our van was super modern and fully equipped, it had everything we needed. We drove down the east coast from Cairns to Brisbane in 2 weeks, there is no better way to experience Australia! On the top of that the staff on pick up and drop off was super friendly! We highly recommend Travellers Autobarn!!

Cheap & nasty service. No accountability, ill equipped to resolve complaints, wouldn't honour reservations made on 3rd party website, fobbed it off to them - wanted you to complain to 3rd party website company about Traveller's Autobarn service, manager wouldn't give you his name for complaint to be escalated further. Others say great service, I don't believe them - sorry. I don't believe in using companies who have staff that won't be held accountable for their own actions and for shortsightedness, it implies they're perfect and not prepared to pursue continual improvement measures for the benefit of customers.

We absolutely loved our time in our van. We took the van from Sydney for 22 days and went all the way up to 1770. Our experience was amazingly comfortable. Travellers autobarn offered a friendly and professional service. There was plenty of room in our 3 berth van and the kitchen facilities were fantastic and great to have a microwave and sink. We had lots of space to store our kit.

We had the best time in our Kuga campervan! Spent one month driving from Perth to Broome and back again, and never had issues with the car. It gave us the ultimate flexibility, and allowed us to camp in awesome locations. The staff at pick up were really helpful, and made us feel safe and ready to hit the Aussie roads. The van had everything we needed, and was so easy to use for different purposes. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the fridge made sure we had cold water in the dying heat! Would definitely recommend to any young backpackers, or even to an older crowd! :)

Very helpful staff who were able to change dates for me at short notice. (Thanks Claire). The van, a Kuga, went well with the only hiccup being a temperamental cd player. The equipment is perfect for the overseas traveller who doesn't want to be buying 'stuff' for the kitchen or bedroom. A positive experience topped off by me leaving my camera behind (senior moment) but having it posted to me. Many thanks.

Great experience of hiring a high top van for 2 months. Travelled approx 10000k and no problems with the van- went smoothly everyday. Good service from the staff and would definitely use again - in fact using same company in New Zealand. Would recommend! We are 2 grey nomads 😄

Travelling around Australia with a campervan of Travellers Autobarn has been a truly unique experience. We did the outstanding Big Pacific Coast road-trip in a journey of more than 4.500km in 23 days. Highly recommended!
