The best of Tweed produce was on show today at Tropical Fruit World at this fabulous long table lunch in our orchards. Destination Tweed hosted the delegation of international chefs and their families.

Taking a walk down memory lane.... In the early days the farm was known as Avocado Land. The plantation evolved and the collection grew, and so in 1995, we became ‘Tropical Fruit World’.

35 years! Can you believe it?
Our founder Bob Brinsmead opened the farm gates for the first time on this day, way back in 1983.
Bob knew this was land of irreplaceable value, and for 35 years he and his family have been delighting guests - sharing the beauty of the farm, and their connection with the land. We’ll be celebrating throughout the year, and invite you to join us… ... .

We’re paying our respects early today - dawn service. Lest we forget. TFW will re-open after 10am today.

We love cooking with farm fresh jakfruit, and the crew at Mamacitas Food Truck do too, serving up our pulled jakfruit - "feisty Mexican style" - in tacos, burritos and quesadillas. Join them this Saturday in Currumbin to cheer our Aussies on to GOLD in the road cycling. They'll be right by the water in Winders Park.

Great to host the crew from ABC Landline today. Good fun, too. The wonderful Pip Courtney not likely to become a professional jakfruit picker though, lol.

This little 'miracle' has been part of our collection for many years, mostly as a novelty - but new research shows just how special it really is. #miraclefruit

Not all bananas are yellow - but ours are all sweet! Which colour would you choose?

We’re celebrating Lunar New Year this week in our Fruit Market with bold colours and bountiful fruit displays.

After an evacuation this afternoon - all of our guests, employees and animals are all safe and sound, and the grass fire nearby has been controlled, thanks to great stuff by the NSWRFS. We apologise for the inconvenience caused to our visitors. We’ll reopen tomorrow.

We grow many different varieties of mangoes right here on our subtropical farm, thanks to these hot summer days. The Bowen (or Kensington Pride) is a favourite, and our staff have just picked some beauties for our fruit market! What’s your favourite mango? How do you eat it? We also use ours to make our ice creams, icy poles, smoothies, jams and desserts - and in our fruit tastings. (Yes - yum!)

User

All set for the first fruit tasting session of the day.

User

The last of our Giant LauLau flowers are just hanging on, despite the rain. Later into Summer we’ll pick the crisp, juicy fruits.

User

Have you heard? We’re freshening up our ‘Plantation Pavilion’ space. Working on our cafe conservatory today. Lots of tropical plantings, of course 🌴

The actual farm was awesome. The disappointment was the girl doing the fruit tasting on Saturday was very sick and didn’t even try to hide it, touching what we were eating. So last night came down with it also. Not happy
