There’s more to Tulip Time than the Tulips!
This year Tulip Time in Corbett Gardens will celebrate the beauty and power of the arts to create memories. As well as the tulip displays, all facets of the arts will be showcased in and around Corbett Gardens.
For example in the CWA Tea Rooms, Celebrity Portraits of Tulip Time Ambassador, Noeline Brown exhibition will be on.
... Four acclaimed local artists, Helen Gauchat, Kerry McInnes, Justin Pearson and Noel Thurgate were invited to bring their own artistic style to a portrait of Noeline Brown, a long time Southern Highland’s resident and award winning actress and comedienne. Plus, while you’re there, enjoy the CWA’s freshly made scones and finger sandwiches. #tuliptime2018 #arts Dementia Australia Wingecarribee Adult Day Care Centres - WADCC

A team of 39 people each planted an average of 2000 tulips in Corbett Gardens over one week in late May – when the cooler temperatures finally arrived in the Southern Highlands.
The 90,000 tulips bulbs were then finished off with border pansies, Forget me Nots and mushroom compost and wrapped ready for their unveiling for Tulip Time in September.
We will be keeping you updated on their progress.

Tulip Time - Thank you morning tea was held at the Welcome Centre last Friday. It was great to be able to say thanks to all our volunteer greeters, sponsors and business supporters in person. We also used the occasion to present Redkite with cheques for the funds raised on their behalf during Tulip Time. #tuliptime #tulips

Tulips are easy to grow – you just need to follow a few simple rules: Tulips will grow in any position except complete shade and they will not tolerate waterlogging It can be beneficial to dip the bulbs in fungicide prior to planting  Plant in April or May when the soil has lost its heat  Add blood and bone to the soil before planting...  Plant 10-15cm deep and 10cm apart in good soil  Plant with the point facing up  Leave undisturbed in the ground until green shoots appear (normally 1-2 months) then remove any weeds  There is no need to water during this winter growth unless the soil is very dry  If you notice infestation, spray with insecticide If you do not live in a cold climate, lift the bulbs after the leaves have died down, and store then in a cool, dry, airy place. Hanging them in an onion bag or stocking is ideal to allow the air to circulate and keep them safe from insects. Plant again in April or May. Happy Gardening – send us a picture of your blooming tulips!
