BANANA FESTIVAL: Crowds lined the streets of Murwillumbah today for the return of the iconic Tweed Valley Banana Festival presented by Apex Club of Murwillumbah. The fun is continuing at the Murwillumbah Showgrounds so you've got plenty of time to come down. POLICE UPDATE:Tweed Police have determined there's been a misunderstanding after a suspected man approached a child at Tweed Heads yesterday. "Following an appeal for public assistance, police were contacted by the family of another student who was also outside the school at the time," police said. "After speaking with the family, police are satisfied the incident was not a child approach, but instead a misunderstanding." "Police thank the media and local community for their... assistance in resolving this matter."
