The fact that you can only book appointments two days before the scheduled appointment makes it harder to make an appointment.
For example, if you want to book an appointment at 11am on Thursday, the booking is only opened on Tuesday at 9am. Although I logged on at 9am, this particular time slot was already booked out.
I thought that we are allowed to book via emailing or phone call, yet the last time I called the office, they told me to book via the booking website. Sometimes I wonder if they perhaps opened the booking time before 9am.
I can understand that there are so many students who are seeking for careers advice. In that case, why won't UNSW Careers and Employment just allow us to make bookings anytime? Because it is just very difficult to find the right appointment time if bookings are only opened 2 days prior to the scheduled appointment. I reckon that the current system only works if there were only very few students who are interested in making appointments with Careers and Employment.
Furthermore, I believe that the current staffs are not as professional as the previous staffs in that they could not provide an insightful advice. They would only show us good resume / cover letter examples and did not bother to check the resume / cover letter I have handed in to be checked. Well, the resume / cover letter, which they believe are good, are in fact not good enough for the employers and thus I had a difficult time trying to secure a job.
