Unsw Mining Engineering

The School of Mining Engineering at UNSW is Australia’s leading mining engineering educational institution – with a proud history and dynamic forward vision for mining education. We offer study via undergraduate, postgraduate coursework and research

We are the largest provider of mining engineers, through our undergraduate program, financially supported and endorsed by the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA).

We also offer the major postgraduate mining engineering coursework program in Australia. This has been primarily designed for people in full-time employment who can use it as a pathway for entering the mining sector from other disciplines; or for developing more specialised technical skills.

The School offers the research degrees of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D. ) in Mining Engineering and Master of Engineering (ME) in Mining Engineering. These research degrees may be undertaken full-time within the school or externally by staff employed full time in the industry over a longer duration.

The School has the largest team of mining academics at any university in Australia, many of whom have worked in the mining industry and share this experience in their lectures.
