Unsw Sandbox Program

About Unsw Sandbox Program

The UNSW Sandbox Program is a platform that empowers tripartite partnerships among industry, academics, and students to co-create solutions for contemporary business and societal problems. The Program challenges the status-quo that work-based learning is merely the "cherry on top". Through our Sandbox tripartite model, we scaffold real-world challenges into existing courses, connecting students with industry practitioners to co-create solutions for contemporary issues. Since its inception in November 2019, the Sandbox Program has transformed 22 undergraduate and postgraduate courses across four disciplines at the UNSW Business School. As a result, over 6, 200 students have gained work-based experience through working directly with 140 industry experts from 22 leading industry partners, including Microsoft, Australian Red Cross, AwareSuper, Ernst & Young, and WWF Australia, to address 60 contemporary business and societal challenges. Industry partners gain access to fresh talent and creative ideas for exploratory projects; students gain the opportunity to learn-by-doing, developing transferrable skills while completing courses as part of their degree; academics gain meaningful engagement opportunities while fulfilling their mission to develop work-ready graduates.
