About Unsw Taido Club

We practice Taido (躰道) – roughly translated as “the way of the mind and body” – a dynamic Japanese martial art with roots from Okinawan Karate at UNSW.

Unsw Taido Club Description

Taido is a Japanese Martial Art that focuses on five key elements to defend against and attack an opponent. Whilst the Art is relatively new to the world, its roots lie in Karate, albeit with an improved fighting technique. The Taido movements are dynamic and comprehensive, and therefore allow for increased mobility, speed and power in all situations. Simultaneously, the spiritual aspect of Taido allows for clearer thought, increased alertness and a generally stronger state of mind that will carry through to all aspects of life.
