Unsw Vegetarian Society

We hold weekly delicious, healthy and vegetarian lunch stalls! Find us between the Roundhouse & Blockhouse on Tuesdays 12PM - 2PM during semester.

The main objectives of UNSW Vegetarian Society are:

1. To encourage vegetarianism (and unstructured discussion)
2. To provide tasty and affordable vegetarian food on campus!

Our main initiative is a weekly vegetarian lunch served right on campus for everyone to enjoy! We also try and get together once a semester over some delicious vegetarian food at one of Sydney’s MANY great eateries!

How do I join?

There's no joining fee! You don't need to be vegetarian either.
Just email us your name, student ID and Arc membership status, or alternatively connect through our OrgSync page (‘sign up’ button takes you there). Easy!

So what's for lunch?

Our caterer is Hari's Vegetarian (157 Broadway, Ultimo). Lunch consists of:

1. Steamed basmati rice
2. One of the following curries:

a. Mixed Veg Curry
b. Red Kidney Bean Curry
c. Chickpea Curry
d. Surprise! Our caterers use seasonal produce so sometimes what we get is completely dependent on what’s available.

3. Dessert – halva, a sweet, semolina based pudding! Now completely VEGAN friendly.
4. And occasionally… Pappadums! (Chickpea flour and cumin seeds. )

Our food is NUT-FREE (occasionally the halva may contain cashews. Always ask beforehand! ), GLUTEN-FREE (aside from dessert) and most importantly, VEGAN (so everyone can enjoy it! )
Our food is made and delivered fresh on the day – first come, first served!
